Loved it!
Step out the door onto the beach. Nice. The shape of the house is very fun. It is kind of like a maze. It does need a little updating, but all-in-all it’s a great house. I would stay there again.

Location only
The only thing worth rating is the location and being right on the beach. Home is very outdated, in need of alot of repairs, furniture wore out, and home has a constant bad odor.

The dome home was absolutely fun! Surprisingling spacious once inside with plenty of room for a large family! The deck was the perfect place for star gazing at night and you just can’t beat the location!

Great location and a unique building. With some TLC this would be an excellent place to stay. Can't beat the beach views and location. Look forward to going back again.

Amazing views but a falling apart house
Starting off with the good. 1. Amazing views right on the beach with a private boardwalk and close to stores to pick up things 2. They provide no toiletries 3. No dish washer detergent 4. We didn’t get any extra towels or blankets 5. Every single bed had sand in them. 6. The washer was trashed and had a repair guy to come out to confirm that it needed be replaced. 7. We had roaches 8. This place needs some serious repairs and is out outdated. The pillars look like they are on their last legs. 9. the grill only works on one side and looks like it has never been cleaned 10. The place didn’t even have a broom to sweep up the sand that will be tracked into the house. If it went for the view and location I would have requested another place. I seriously doubt that the cleaner changed the bedding. We really wanted to like it but I would skip this one.

Wonder unique stay
This was a birthday trip with our family and we loved staying in the dome home. You cannot beat the location. The lighting throughout the home was really neat. Lots and lots of shells right outside your door! Great experience. The home is in need of some repair, especially the tiles but overall would stay again.

Nice home
Over all it was a nice visit. Right at the water. Held all of my crew which was the max very nicely. The only problem was the cookware needs updating. Cooking wasn’t easy for 10 people with small pans that everything stuck too.

Dome home
We really enjoyed our stay. We had 6 adults and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. Perfect beach access. The dome does sway a little bit not enough to bother us. This was a great holiday get away. I would highly recommend the dome to travelers wanting a unique experience.

Dome Dome on the Range
The Dome home was great! Very unique architecture. You are right on the water so going back and forth from the house to the water was easy. Cape San Blas as a whole is great too. Very quiet area. Fishing from the beach was also great. Will be happy to rent again if an opportunity presents itself.

The dome home
The location of this home and proximity to the beach is a major selling point, the home was clean and well appointed for our stay with just 2 of us being there. Being February we didn't need to use the outdoor shower for any reason, but it was there and appeared to be in working condition. A couple of the cons we noticed were, the grout in the tile floor throughout the main area of the house needs some attention, there was one bed we were told about prior to our stay being damaged and the wardrobe in one bedroom has the door hinges broken. Lastly the plastic deck chairs were mostly broken, which only being 2 of us in our stay didn't affect our enjoyment of the deck but had there been more people in the party we would have been out of deck seating after about 4. Would definitely book the home again in the future as it was a nice place, quiet location, and much more roomy than it appears in the pictures and seeing it from the road.

55th Birthday Celebration
My husband booked this property for my 55th birthday birthday week. We usually spend my birthday week in Port St Joe, which we love. However this year he surprised me with the booking of the "Dome Home". Let me say that this location is absolutely amazing. The inside is huge and the woodwork is beautiful. We loved the beachfront view along with the private location, due to an empty rental on one side and an empty lot on the other side. We can't wait to come back next year !!

Delightful Dome on the Beach
Overall an amazing experience staying in the dome home. Spacious deck! Large rooms inside & the multi story living area was very cool. It had interesting sound effects :)) We also experienced the swaying other reviewers mentioned which was pretty cool once we realized what was happening. Kitchen was adequately stocked. We hope to return for another visit!

Unique House ON the beach
We loved our stay at the Dome Home! It was probably 25 steps to the ocean. There was no one in the house next door and an empty lot on the other side so it was almost like having a private beach. We loved the outdoor shower with hot and cold water. It made showering the 5 kids after a day at the beach much easier and helped keep sand out of the house. The only complaints we had were the bathrooms could really use some updates (especially the toilets), there weren’t quite as many kitchen utensils/pots/pans as we would have liked, and there is a need for more places to hang swimsuits/towels in the outdoor shower area and in the bathrooms. Overall we loved our stay there and would definitely go again. The kids called it a spaceship and loved the spiral stair case to their upstairs bedrooms.

Wonderful Family Vacation
We really enjoyed our family vacation in the Dome House. The house is unusual looking and very cool. It feels much bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside and was plenty of room for our family of 10. The kitchen and living area were big enough for us to all be together and the locations of the bedrooms provided plenty of privacy. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The house was clean when we arrived. The beach is beautiful with lots of shells. It was never crowded and there was a lot of turtle activity with new next being marked almost every morning. Apparently,an issue with the washing machine had been reported prior to our arrival. A repair man came one morning, and it was replaced the next day. We had a minor issue with the keypad door, which was resolved, but I would suggest shorter codes.

Fun place directly on the beach
Pros: This was a fun and unique rental. Our family had a great time on the beach. It was especially convenient and enjoyable to be located directly on the water. It was also nice to have an outdoor rinse station and shower halfway up the stairs to the home to hose the kids off. The outdoor wraparound deck is beautiful. We had to call customer service one time and they were very responsive and solved our issue right away. The beach itself is first-rate, and near to St. Joseph State Park and the lighthouse, and also to Apalachicola for shopping and good food. Cons: Due to the increasing erosion, there is much less beach than pictured (the water is much closer to the home.). The home itself is in need of many repairs and updating, especially for the price per night. There are loose tiles, non- or barely working doorknobs, very old kitchenware, super dull knives, broken drawers, dated and barely functional lighting, the outdoor sink is not hooked up or usable, and although there are beach and water toys available, most are broken. Summary: overall it's a great place to stay, but bring your own kitchen stuff and outdoor toys.

Great location- needs a little work
We enjoyed our stay especially due to the close location to the beach. The mattresses could use updates. House does not have large windows, so it tended to be dark. The main overhead ceiling fan or light in great room did not turn on at all. I called the property manager who said a maintenance man would be sent to come look at it. No one ever showed up. We had checked the breaker etc to try to troubleshoot it before calling. One bar stool was broken and a towel rack broke when just removing a towel in the normal way. The most disturbing thing was an electrical box without a cover out on the deck. With a 3 year old who naturally wants to touch everything, this was a great concern. I didn’t call property management about it because as I mentioned before no one responded to my first call.

Great Location, Novelty
I will start by saying if you have ever come to the Cape you know of the Dome Home. It has been on our list to stay there at least one time. Overall we would stay here again if the maintenance company made some repairs because the location is great. Unfortunately Vacasa was not responsive at all when we reached out about issues. Pros: - Great location! Right on the beach and very close to the rocks/stump hole. Not far to the two markets to buy food/things you forgot and to grab your donuts. - Bigger than you think from the outside and from the pictures. The two downstairs bedrooms each have their own bathroom. One has a pull out couch as well. - Outdoor shower and place to rinse off your feet. - Appliances were new and there is a fair amount of kitchen cookware. - Internet speeds and stability were great. I have never been able to work from the Cape if needed and we had more than enough speed to do so this time. Cons: - 4 lights didn’t work while we were there. Called maintenance twice and still have not received a response. We would have replaced ourselves but couldn’t find the appropriate bulbs and some of the lights were not easy to get off the wall to change it. - Floor tiles are coming up everywhere. Beware if you have small kids because the grout is chipping out and we had a small one that kept picking up the pieces. - Bathrooms all function but have a lot of issues: no toilet paper holders; sink knobs broken, bathtub jets broken, doors stick shut, etc. - Dining table finish is so sticky that you can’t put a paper plate down without it sticking to the table. We tried to play cards and couldn’t pick them up off the table. - Fridge is not connected to water so no filtered water and no ice. Make sure to bring bottled water to drink! - Upstairs rooms are better suited for children. Due to the dome shape it’s difficult to stand in those rooms near the beds so watch your head! Plus the bedrooms share a bathroom that is also difficult due to the dome shape. - Hurricane door on the back of the house is old and rusted and clanks all night long because it no longer locks in place. - No where to go in and out that is not soft sand so be prepared to clean your shoes a lot. - Fish cleaning sink does not work at all. - Septic tank was leaking so it smelled awful while sitting on the beach. Luckily we couldn’t smell it inside. - Outlets are too far from the couch and lamps so extension cords have to be used across the walkways. It made it very hazardous for children/older folks.

Can't beat the view!
Having your front yard as the ocean... doesn't get any better than that! The dome home is a bit deceptive... its much bigger on the inside then I expected. The house was clean. We had plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the front room setup. Would have loved to have had an outdoor table and chairs. The deck below with a shower, a place to rinse your feet, and dump your beach stuff was awesome! The kitchen could use some simple restocking ie: pizza cutter, ice cream scooper, more utensils, etc. I would 100% stay at the dome home again.

Par
So the dome home was super cool. We were so excited for stay. Literally 20 steps to the ocean. The down fall was the neglect of some basic upgrades. I paid $3700 for our stay. The living areas were clean and fine. Noticing how warm the dome was I looked at the air control under the stars and it was running 5 degrees hotter. The air unit can’t keep up. If you look at the unit outside looks like it is on its last leg. When you look at the filter vent inside, it seems it hasn’t been changed since Covid. The outside shower was super awesome made it a blast to rinse off. However the pipe is so incredibly rusted. The door knobs all in the house are very dated, and one doesn’t stay on. The dishwasher a broken wheel on the upper tray slide so you have to be easy on the dishwasher. The owner should consider sound panels on the roof to absorb the whispers from echoing all around the house. The last little annoying thing was you needing a damp swifter for all the flooring to get the sand that tracks in. Other than those little annoying things the stay was great and we would consider staying again as a backup option.

Stairs need lights. Major accident waiting to happen.
