Next to Alicante’s bustling harbour district, Postiguet Beach is the most convenient place to cool off in the city. Spend the day climbing Mount Benacantil or wandering the Old Town and then go swimming at Postiguet before the sun goes down. Swim in the Mediterranean and explore the rock clusters that hide tide pools and sea life.
Despite the neighbouring harbour, Postiguet Beach is perfectly clean. In celebration of its consistently white sand and blue water, the beach has received multiple awards. It’s also a safe place to bring children, as there are fewer watersports than at the nearby Playa de San Juan. You and your family can swim without the worry of windsurfers and Jet Skis filling the waters.
Discover the rock formations dotting the beach at various points along its 900-metre (3,000-foot) length. Find a starfish or crabs in tide pools at low tide. The rocks are also a peaceful place to sit and gaze out to sea.

Due to its easy accessibility, Postiguet Beach attracts large crowds of locals and tourists. Visit during the week or around midday if you’re hoping for a peaceful swim. On the weekends, the beach gains a cheerful party atmosphere due to the number of visitors. Join in a friendly game of beach volleyball or soccer.
Reach the beach by tram or car or walk, since it sits just outside the city centre. Free parking is available on the streets near the beach and there is ticketed parking in a designated lot. Postiguet is a public beach and can be accessed for free.
