Far away from the city center
The big problem with this hotel is the location: it is located far away from the city center on some hills around the city. It is 20 euros and half an hour to go to the city. The hotel is a nice big house, good service and rooms.

Hotel was clean, service was good, but furniture are so old and damaged. It really looks not very good, if the hotel would change or renovate the furniture they could have much better evaluation from customers. And also we where missing some vegetables in breakfast bufe :)

Hotel was fine. You get what you pay for. Staff were very friendly, but the place was very under staffed as regards the bar and kitchen.Could be doing with light food or snack facilities. We couldnt get anything to eat or drink from 10am til 4pm.Even a vending machine would have done.Made us leave the pool and get a taxi to the City two days in a row. There losing out bigtime!!!!

it was ok
It was hard to find when we first arrive and more of a walk then we were led to believe from the bus stop. The room was ok, although we did find some major cobwebs on some of the furniture. Most of the staff were very helpful!

A suburban retreat..
Staff were nice enough, breakfast was OK, location is in a very quiet part of Prague rather disconnected from things, so if you need to be near the heart of town, this is not the place. The room was quite shabby, but the view of Prague from the swimming pool is fantastic.

Not Bad
The hotel location is great, especially if you are driving and or you don't mind to exercise to and from the Tramway station, which is about 12 to 15 minutes walk. But once you get there you have Traway 3 or 17 that runs frequently and get you either where you need to go or to connect with subway. The hotel is on a hill top, it has a feel of a country side with a commanding view, It is in a quiet neighberhood, and it feels safe. However, one would not like the furniture, it is quite old and outdated. They still have the old TV. Yep that big box, we used to have in the 90's. No cable, if I am not mistaken all the channel are in czech language, in any rate I couldn't find any English, French or Spanish channel (I am saying these, simply because these are the languages I understand and speak, iwould have been nice to have at least one or two channels that one understand) Another thing that one would noy like about this hotel and the bathroom. The floor plan of the room was kind of idiotic, the made so much closet space, but they have no bathtub, and the shower is very small. Whiel I was taking a shower, I keep accidently shutting off the water by hitting the nob with my elbows. There is no elbow room, or you have to be snake slim, to take a comfortable shower in it.

No Good.
We chose this hotel because the reviews in trip advisor. (Also Expedia list them as 3 stars hotel) We had car, wanted to see Prague but didn't want to over spend for two nights in a city hotel with car parking charges on top. This is a suburban hotel, very tired, ongoing smell of the kitchen, mainly old cooking fat, did let the hotel down (I can't give them stars not even a 1/2 star) further out of the way than expected - a good 15-20 minute walk to the nearest tram stop. The mattresses were rock hard (I think you would find better in a prison!) and it was the worst 1 night sleep (if you can call it sleep) we ever had in a hotel. (Noise people next door) Breakfast? Please I wouldn't eat, the plates the cups, everything looks dirty. The rooms are old, carpets dirty, many flights of stairs. Up, down, and around... Beware.. No help with luggage. This hotel really is more of a backpackers style...a disappointment. The good thing is we booked with Expedia, next day called and explain the situation, they understood, canceled the rest of days of the reservation, offer us a refund of $ 100. Do yourself a favor, don't go there. Get a hotel in down town (Ibis. I am writing my review about them) you don't need to take taxi, train, etc. etc. Prague is a beautiful city everything with a walking distance.

Couldn't ask for a better hotel
Hotel Monica is a great hotel. Great free breakfast, not far from downtown-we took the bus and than the subway-15 mintutes. Staff was great and spoke english. They made you feel very welcome. It was nice being on the outskirts-very quiet. Nice change from all the tourist and traffic in downtown. Would stay again when we go back to Prague.

Little gem of a place
Having located this gem perched on a hill overlooking the Barrandov hills and the Barrandovsky most (bridge ) over the Vlitava River , south of Prague, this turned into a very enjoyable stay indeed. It is a quaint little place hidden away from the hassle and bustle of the city centre but within 15/20 minutes reach of it by car, taxi, or bus/metro underground. The food was exquisite, the staff helpful. I highly recommend this lovely little hotel.

Great hotel but not central enough
An excellent family hotel, clean and friendly. Excellent and varied breakfast. Only drawback is the location. Fine if you have a car, otherwise it's public transport which can take some time.

it's just ok
if you're looking for just a place to sleep, with clean sheets&towels, a nice view and a low price then this is the right place. but if you're the picky kind, then there's some to consider: old furniture, old small tv, the location is on a back road, not that easy to get there but very quiet, a very small shower cabin(I weigh 86kg and I could hardly turn inside), small room if you're traveling with family otherwise is big enough. two other things to consider: 1.park you're car in the back garden as there's a possibility of theft and 2. there's a very nice lady that will make fresh pancakes for breakfast for you, as many as you wish :) (the pancakes are complimentary to the breakfast buffet)

Hotel Monica in Prague
I stayed in this hotel with my family for 2 nights and we were completely happy with everything. It's situated on a very nice place with a nice view of the city. The only drawback of this hotel I would say is not so comfortable from the point of public transport. But if you are with a car (as in my case) it's indeed a wonderful place to stop! Malik

Not Too Close To The Sights But Quiet
We stayed here in May on a long weekend. I had thought all rooms came with a view of the city but the one they gave us was tiny with no view or balcony. They 'upgraded' us to a room with the city view- it was much better but the view was still mainly only highway traffic. The hotel is about 15-20 min from the main parts of the city and it can be really hard finding tram tickets when the hotel runs out (they were out our entire stay) so we rode our bikes into town and locked them up for the day. There aren't many bikes in the crowded areas and Prague isn't very bike friendly compared to other places we have been. The breakfast at the hotel was awesome- fresh crepes every morning! There is also a restuarant there which is good but somewhat overpriced for what you get. The pool seemed clean and there were kids in there quite often. Overall a good place but next time we will look for something a bit more convenient.
