Loved the resort for a family visit. There was plenty to do, especially with kids. The lazy river was best for our 3-year-old. The staff was friendly, except for the building concierges who tried to trick us into Timeshare presentations with special breakfast and free goodies. Despite being a 4-star hotel, it needed maintenance as many things were broken in the rooms and elevators.

We just got back from staying for a week at Royalton Bavaro. We were pleasantly surprised to have been given a complimentary concierge due to booking through Expedia, Esatlin was wonderful and booked our reservations for us. Room had a nice view of the children’s pool play area and the lazy river. Shower takes several minutes to warm up but it was no bother once we figured it out that we had to turn it on and let it run for a little bit. Lazy river was top notch. Beach was crowded, but very clean and beautiful. First day we went to the beach we were unable to find a spot in the shade to sit, but an employee immediately came to our rescue and found us chairs and cleaned them off for us. From that day on, we would walk down and put towels on chairs under the shade before going to breakfast. Vendors on the beach will relentlessly ask if you want to book an excursion or buy something or have your picture taken with an animal, our favorite was an older gentleman selling hand carved animal figurines. We wanted to try Hunter Steakhouse but with the Royalton App I was unable to book a reservation with them for any night of the week, so Estalin graciously made the reservation for us. Zen was our favorite restaurant by far. Buffet was a good fallback option and had good range of choices, a different theme every night. Overall we had a very nice time, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Overall this was a decent property with regards to affordable all inclusive resorts. We have stayed at several others and would rate this a three star experience. The big positive was the location. Thier beachfront is probably the best in the area. The actual full circle lazy river is another big positive. The negative side is the constant, and I mean every 10 minute request in different forms to listen to the "diamond club" pitch. We actually listened to the sales pitch just to try to enjoy our vacation and get them to stop, and it did come with some freebies. The Canadian implant or "Manager" that finally tells you how much this will cost (think a middle class annual salary) ended up being extremely rude when turned down and asked us "why we bothered to even listen to this?". Absolutely insane way to manage and had we not been expecting it could have put a big damper on the relaxing vacation we had planned. Other resorts have upgrades to "club or VIP" with special access or areas which is normal, but here you are absolutely treated as a second class vacationer if you are not part of the elite diamond club. Overall the resort seemed fairly unorganized and only relatively clean. Customer drink cups are left around the site and our room did not get cleaned every day. We had a swim up and the water in the small pool that is shared by 10-12 suites was not clean. Maybe there was another filtration method, but the water was well below the skimmer inlets.

This property is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The staff are very welcoming and have amazing energy. I felt right at home. If your looking for a family friendly resort, i highly suggest this location. There is an awesome lazy river and plenty of activities to do. The beach is beautiful with very little to no seaweed. I enjoyed all the restaurants and my favorite is seafood, which there were plenty of options. I found plenty of seating around the pool and beach area.

This hotel was just average compare to other hotels that I was in the past specially the restaurants and food quality wasn’t that good also the beach wasn’t that beautiful, not too much fun for kids, I thought you can get a shuttle and use other Royaltons as well but their staff mentioned that it will cost extra $100 for each to visit other Royaltons , if you are looking for somewhere with great food and great staff Royalton Bavaro shouldn’t be in your first list, the only great thing I can tell about this hotel was the night shows

Employees are friendly, solution based and very accomodating. Bartenders at martini mix bar were the besssst. Tip them well & they’ll make sure you have a good night. Property is pretty big so only downside is the walking but worth it. Family friendly resort but still easy to relax and enjoy with designated kids areas. Property clean and well kept. Room cleaned everyday and fresh towels available everyday. Anything you need you can just call the front desk for.

My wife and I went to the resort to celebrate her 45th birthday. We had a private driver from the airport and the nightmare started from the moment of attempting to check in. Let’s just say it took almost 2 hours to check in which extended even further so my first day was a loss. They issue you kinetic arm bands that unlock the door to the room. Neither one of our bands worked initially so we had to go back to the front desk, (which we had to wait for a golf cart to get us back there). This took an another 30 minutes to be activated and upon returning my wife’s band still didn’t work. Instead of wasting more time, we decide to settle in and upon entering the room discovered that we had a pool view and not a view of the ocean which is what I paid for. I immediately called the concierge and told them the issue and got the run around including the response, this is our version of an ocean view!! After several draining and frustrating conversations, they advised that they did have an ocean view but due to capacity, we would have to wait to move the following day. Keep in mind we were only there for 3 nights. The room was not as advertised even aside the view, it was older, not as clean and you could smell mold so we had to open up the balcony door to let fresh air in. After escalating further and telling them the room description is misleading and deceptive they advised they would move me but offered a two double bed option instead of the one king option I paid for.

The rooms are small and lack privacy for luxury family suites especially. The rooms can be maintained better. Staff seems bothered and not very accommodating. Pools and cabanas are nice. Beach is beautiful. Shows are cool.

Our stay at the Royalton Bavaro was nothing short of amazing, and a huge part of that was thanks to the outstanding service we received, especially from Estalin, our concierge. From the moment we arrived, Estalin went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of our stay was perfect. We initially had a room that was a bit further away from our friends, but Estalin quickly made arrangements to move us closer so we could easily connect and enjoy our vacation together. This simple yet thoughtful gesture made a huge difference and truly enhanced our experience. Throughout our stay, Estalin took care of all the details, from arranging our airport transportation, securing dinner reservations at some of the resort's fantastic restaurants to suggestions and contacts for our excursions. We never had to worry about a thing, and we were able to focus on enjoying our time at the resort. The resort itself is beautiful—spacious, clean, and with plenty of activities to keep us entertained. The food was exceptional, and the staff across the board were friendly and attentive. But it was Estalin’s exceptional level of care and dedication that really set our stay apart. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking to relax and enjoy some time away, I highly recommend staying at the Royalton Bavaro. If you’re lucky enough to have Estalin as your concierge, you’re in for a truly seamless and unforgettable experience!
