"What an amazing experience staying at Santa Juana Lodge! Myself, my husband and our 2 year old daughter had an amazing time here. The motel is a couple blocks from the beach and a couple of blocks from Manuel Antonio. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff was great. "The location is out of this world - mountains one side - Pacific Ocean the other and greenery everywhere. The staff are great and friendly and helpful. There is a free walk with a guide which takes in all the hanging bridges. It is a wonderful place to be. "

"All the staff were extremely helpful with suggestions and tips. Carried luggage up the stairs without even asking. Outdoor dining and bar area very nice. You feel like you're in a jungle. Keep in mind you'll be visited by up to 3 different monkey spcies at breakfast - very cool. Nice beach across the highway with an 8 min. walk."

"We (4 adults) enjoyed our stay very much. Finding this hidden treasure off the main road was a little difficult the first time, but we learned the visual landmarks quickly. We felt VERY secure inside the Suites and it was quiet and relaxing. Located in a neighborhood, we had very pleasant interactions with the local residents and frequented the grocery store nearby. David, the Manager, was WONDERFUL with communication and photos showing us where to park, how to gain entrance and get to our rooms...

"Beautiful stay with much more than I expected! The private beach was amazing! The staff was very friendly and very helpful! The room was excellent! The animals around the premises were a sight to see! The food…..chefs kiss! The drinks….delicious! Would recommend and would definitely stay again! Makanda by the Sea did not disappoint! "

"The hotel was full of trees and plants and wildlife so nice. The food was good and the staff were excellent. The local bus could be caught nearby to the National Park or Quopos for under £1 and was frequent. Outside the hotel we saw sloth with baby and Tucans in the trees. Downside was that outside there were only occasionally places to walk down the road no footpaths so we chose restaurants close by during the day and taxi at night. I would go back to this hotel loved it. There is a small supermarket next door which was handy. Saw many iguana’s in the hotel plus monkeys and a leemar visiting so lovely to see"
