Kerala, Gods own country is matchless in its cultural traditions and the beauty offered by this bestowed land. Zarah’s house is being run by Mr. George and his wife Mrs. Elsy who have spent more than 40 years working in middle yeast and United Kingdom. We have travelled far and wide across the globe as part of his job as an auditor with Deloiite &Touché International and also as a tourist. Our property is surrounded by our own organic vegetable and fruit garden. The property is ideally located so that it is convenient for us look after our guests requirements and taking care of them at any time. Meals will be cooked in our own house with the ingredients sourced from our own farm or we can arrange in our own house if guest wish so for a pleasant and comfortable stay for the guests.Zarah’s homestay can be described as a safe, secure, and caring home away from home for the guests.

Our property’s unique selling point is its self-sustaining feature.
We source most of our vegetableand fruits from our own organic farm.
We have a natural spring that provides fresh water to the property all the year around.
Our property is situated in an ideal location which is less than 5 minutes’ drivefrom town center and state high way.
We have well net worked with several tour operators operating in our neighborhood to provide day’strip, package tours to various tourist locations.
We have close connection with some of the house boat owners located in Alappuzha. My brother owns a resort/farm house in Nellianpathy –Palghat district called as Nelliyanpathy Hill valley farm house. Nelliyanpathy is famed for its large bio-farms, plantations and orange gardens. For an adventurous traveller they provide facility for trekking, safaris, plantation study, photography and bird watching..
My brother in law owns a farm house called Shalom Garden, in Theni district, Tamil Nadu state. Those who are interested in visiting large scale vegetables, fruits such as mangoes, grapes, plantions, coconut, cashews cultivation, Theni is the ideal place for them. Both Kodaikkanal and Madurai are approximately 75 KM by road from Theni. Various tourist destinations around Ranny are as follows:
Perunthenaruvi
Perunthenaruvi waterfall is located in the dense Sabarimala forest area. It is about 16 KM from Ranni, approximately 23 minutes’ drive from our place. The water fall in river pampa at Perunthenaruvi attracts thousands of people. Here the gushing water pours down a rocky path into a ravine about 100 feet deep thisbeautiful is an ideal tourist location in Ranny area.

Konni Elephant Training Centre

It is only 22KM from Ranny. Konni has a major elephant center since ancient times. The prime attraction here is the huge cages of wood built to home elephants. These cages are locally known as Anakoodu and can accommodate 3 to 4 elephants at a time. The trainers here train the baby elephants which get separated from their herd or are found wounded or roaming in the forest.

Adavi Eco Tourism
It is about 30 KM from Ranny. Kuttvanchi sailing is the main attraction here. Adavi is about 7 KM from Konni town. A picturesque forest patch on the banks of river kallar, Adavi has nearly 5 KM riverfrontage. The Adavi Eco tourism project jointly launched b department of forest and tourism is part of third phase ofKonni Eco tourism project, coracle rafting or bowl boat riding is an innovative venture ,which promises a never before experience to travellers.

Gavi
Gavi is quiet, beautiful forest heaven. It is at the eastern extreme of Pathanamthita district at 3400 feet above sea level.Gavi is about 55 minutes’ drive from Ranni. These evergreen forests are abundant with magnificentwildlife, including the tiger, elephants, leopards, deers, monkeys etc..

Periyar wild life sanctuary and spice world

Periyar wild life sanctuary and spice world, around Kumaly and Thekkady, which is about 2 hours’ drive from us. Over twelve varieties of spices are cultivated in and around Thekkady.The spice plantation tour covers spices such as cardamom, pepper, clove, vanilla, nutmeg etc. in addition to Ayurveda plants and herbs. The Periyar forest of Thekkady holds the finest wild life reserve inIndia. Onecan watch wild life in close quarters from the from the safety of boat. This is the only place in India offering such a facility..

Sabarimala Temple

Sabarimala is one of the most famous pilgrim centers in India.Sabarimala shrine located around 60 KM from Ranny, approx. one hour thirty minutes drives from here. Sabarimala is located in the Periyar tiger reserve in the WesternGhats mountain .Saarimala is renowned for millions of pilgrims thronging it all through the year. Pilgrims trek the Neelimala to reach the shrine which has 18 sacred steps, to worship lord Ayappa after undergoing religious vows for 48days.Pilgrim season starts from November to mid-January. Mandala pooja and the Makaravilakku are the two main events of the pilgrim season. The temple stays closed during the rest of the year, except for first five days of every Malayalam month and during vishu (April). People of all casts and creed are permitted into the temple, however entry is not allowed to women between 10 and 50 years of age.
Vagamon
Vagamon is about 65 KM from Ranny, approx. 1hour 50 minutes’ drive. The charms of Vagamon hill station is peacefully nested in the border of Idukki-Kottayam districts at an altitude of 1100 meters from the sea level. It is a wonderland for tourists especially for honeymooners. The amazing beauty of this picture perfect place is contributed by pleasant climate and varied moods of nature, gentlebreeze, rain drop, golden hue, dense virgin forest, cascadingwaterfalls, verdant greenery from pine trees meadows are the astonishing colors of Vagamon. The uphill driving is an excellent experience one can enjoy fresh mountain air..
Arammula
Aramula is about 17 KM an approx.27 minutes’ drive from Ranny .Aramula is famous for Parthasathy temple and unique metal mirrors called Aramula Kannadi.Aramula boat race is one of the famous tourist attraction in centralKerala.
Popularly known as Venice of the East. Allapuzha is the main center for backwater cruises in Kerala, with most house boats departing from here. It is also famous for boat races, back waters,house boat holidays, beaches, marine and coir products. Overnight stay also can be arranged in houseboats. Allapuzha is approximately one and a half hours drive from Ranny.
