Evason Phuket Rocks
I've been goingt o the Evason for about 7 years now and always stay there at least once a year - sometime more! Yes the place is due a makeover, but the staff and ambience of the place is sublime. You also won't have had the opportuinity to eat breakfast with such a view many places in your life! Bon Island is a treat - the list goes on! Go - enjoy!

This is the worst experience I've ever had. Our room was not ready at midnight when we arrive to the hotel. The bathroom was dirty and messy. The person in the reception didn't speak English.

Our week away from it all - very peaceful
Hotel is secluded and sits on a very steep slope. Location is very private - the hotel does not have a beach on site, but has exclusive use of a beach on Bon Island which is about a 15 minute free long-tailed boat ride away. Facilites on the island are good: bar offering meals and snacks, just about enough sunbeds, windsurfer and hobi-cat rental etc. The beach is surrounded by a reef which is great for snorkelling if the tide is high enough, at low tide the water will not be much above your knees in the sandy bottomed area before the reef starts (some 10m out). You are not allowed to swim or snorkel over the reef until the tide reaches a certain height - this is to prevent damage to the (partly dead) reef and yourself. Some days the tide times may mean you cannot go over the reef at all. You can snorkel parallel to the reef even in fairly low tides if careful - still many fish to be seen. There is a public beach of sorts next to the hotel with some small local kiosks and food - also sunbeds for rent. Didn't look the best beach for swimming as boat trips leave from there and go in and out at quite high speed. Catering at the hotel is generally very good, breakfast buffet is superb with much choice - try to get breakfast included if you can. The other 3 restaurants ranged from average to exceptional (Into the Sea). As in Thailand generally, wine is very expensive. As the hotel is on such a steep slope, significant steps and walking are involved - even if you use the shuttle.

Amazing hotel. Loved every bit of it!
Lovely hotel. We got treated so well here. Had our own butler who really looked after us. We were away for our honeymoon so booked the Duplex Pool Suite. Was such a treat as had our own pool and special area by ourselves to have breakfast away from the main restuarant. Loved every bit of it! Found some lovely places to eat nearby also but hotel food was great just a bit more pricy!

This hotel is beautifully appointed with great views etc. I have been going here for a few years and sadly the maintenance of the rooms is not as good as it should be. When we first arrived we stayed in a regular seaview room, the quality was not good, so the hotel moved us into a deluxe room which was much nicer. Some of the communal areas are quite run down especially the area around the swimming pool. Its a real pity because the staff are superb, the breakfasts and cuisine fantastic, but now the Evasun need to spend some money renovating the rooms and some of the communal areas.

Paradise in Phuket
From the minute you turn off the main road into the drive to the lobby you can't help but feel the relaxation and calmness that surrounds this resort. The resort is lovely and has a calm relaxing feel to it. We were upgraded to a sea view and not even told and didn't discover this till arriving in the room. The hotel surrounds are gorgeous. The restaurant is breathtaking, pool areas are stunning. Everything is thought of. Loved that room facilities all had the same lemon grass smell. Loved the hotels philosophy of S.L.O.W L.I.F.E. having their own private island was wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer 5 nights was not long enough. The only tiny negative is the bathrooms are probably needing an upgrade soon. But even this didn't bother us, they had a rustic feel which blended in with the relaxed slower pace of life in the resort. And some people have complained about the amount of stairs but they supply shuttles if you are really that lazy or incabable of walking. But really the walk after the huge breakfast was welcome to walk off the food. Loved it can't recommend this property enough.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting.
Beautiful hotel in very nice setting overlooking the sea. A little isolated so if you plan to leave the resort at all you need a car which the hotel will happily arrange for you. My only real complaint was the only Wifi available was in the hotel lobby not in the room.

The very best of Phuket: a big resort, basking in glorious boutique luxury.
A safe distance from the Patong insanity, Evason offers a wonderfully relaxing, natural beauty. The resort is large but unless you actually walk through it, you don't realise the scope and size. Even then, it's a pleasure to explore. Magnificent restaurants, private island, three pools, one of which an inspiring infinity pool where I swam at sunrise (before the official pool opening time, but with the blessings of the pool man) and relaxed in the afternoon. You can find cheaper but you'll be hard pressed to find better. I hope I can afford to go back one day. It's already become one of my favorite destinations on the planet.

Rest and relax at The Evason
The best place for "Time Out", the resort is second to none for total tranquility. Facilities are excellent and plenty of room at the pools. Visiting Bon Island for the day was so peaceful. Breakfast is the best ever!! Even though there were a lot of people at the resort one felt like it was all theirs! For evenings there are restaurants on the beachfront within walking distance (20 mins) or take a Taxi outside the resort. Looking forward to my nexttime.

Peaceful resort with nice view
It's not easy to find because the road signs of the hotel is quite small. Byt the service of the staff is excellent. They will follow up all of your requests. The breakfast have many choices and dine in the good view restaurant. The infinity pool is excellent. There are some happy hours which the drinks are buy one get one free. The room is clean and tidy but the tv signal is unstable. The boat to Bon Island was stop in the PM in my two days stay. But the island is good for relaxing and which have high privacy.

Worst Hotel in Phuket
Don't be deceived by the photos! This hotel is not worth the money. The hotel is in a poor state of maintenance, they charge you for everything, the staff is rude, they advertise the use of a private island but you can only go for a few hours a day because of the low tide. There are many other hotels in the area that offer better service and facilities for a better price. Their Spa is falling apart. Stay away from this hotel. It should be a 2-3 start hotel at most.

Gorgeous, natural, considerate...maybe not for the average package tourist...
The Evason's charm is due to its seclusion, natural surroundings (they didn't clear-cut all the trees in sight to plant uniform and occasional palms, unlike some places!), and million dollar views of the Andaman Sea. They have a lovely private island you can reach by free long-tail boat off the resort pier. The spa is great, there are plenty of good food choices, and the staff are personable and efficient. Reviews I've read online chide the hotel for a lack of elevators. It is a sprawling property with plenty of outdoor corridors and walkways and paths. There is a continuously running tram to get you from one end of the resort to the other if you decide not to walk. Yet, some travelers persist in complaining. (I would suggest if you are out of shape and impatient, you stay somewhere else, b/c you will be miserable here.) The three pools are all nice--the family pool is the least attractive, but it's a good few degrees cooler than the other two--and the fitness facilities are good. My only complaint: hiring a resort car and driver requires a minimum 3-hour booking and none of them seem to know the area very well! Bring your maps and guidebooks--the driver will need them! (Or you can walk off resort and just flag a local cabbie. Or look for a sign--many food stalls will also advertise cabs. We did that and had much better results.) Also, confirm the price--they may try to change them on you.

Evason, A brilliant Honeymoon destination
The Eavson was a brilliant resort, the grounds were immaculate and the staff were extremely helpful. We found that the resort was more than we expected and it exceeded the surrounding resorts in the area. The location was great as it is situated far away enough from the city that it is still in a secluded peaceful environment although if you wanted to go to town (Patong) then it was only 25mins away. Puket town was not overly exciting although Patong is a place you must visit for the markets and the nightlife. As this was our honymoon i would recommend it to anyone considering this as a honymoon destination as there were very few children and there is an adults only pool. The food at the resort is a little pricey although it is extremely good food. Activities (such as trips to Peepee island and massages) can be organised through the resort although it was very expensive to do it this way. On the public beach next to the resort there is a man (named Wit) who also organises trips to peepee island and pretty much anything else you could want to do, His price was always at least half the price that the resort would charge. He does ask for a deposit of about 50% and he always delivered on what he promised. I hope to one day return to the Evason and recommend the resort to anyone wishing to visit Thailand.

a slice of paradise
We absolutely loved the Evason Phuket resort. I was with my parents and 4 year old son and we all loved it. The private island was wonderful and the free boat went every half hour or so. On arrival we were handed lemon grass infused wet towels and cold watermelon, and guided to our deck chairs with big beach towels. There was beach bocce and other games, and willing staff to teach them or be a game partner. The staff were wonderful. We were very sorry to leave. My son loved the free kids club. Although meals were expensive for Thailand they were still half of the Australian prices, and were superb. There were lots of free activities at the resort, so it worked out very reasonable overall. We didn't venture out much because it was so nice there. After one brief trip to sleazy, noisy Patong we were grateful to be back to the beauty and tranquility of the resort. The buffet breakfast was amazing - best I've ever had. Overall, I wish I was back there!!!

Evason - Paradise if you like the SLOW life, infinity pools and your own private island on 60+ Acres
Evason is a magnificent place set on 60+ acres of beautiful gardens with it's own private beach and island. If you want a beach party holiday with heaps of tourists partying their pants off complete with cheap booze and faux Louis Vuitton handbags - Evason and Rawai IS YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE. If however, you want to spend some quality time in a beautiful place unwinding or on your honeymoon - this hotel is truly paradise. The way it's built means you'll never know exactly how many other people are staying there - very relaxing and private. The staff were so accommodating and went the extra mile to make our stay really comfortable. Outside of the hotel there are some great local food markets, food stalls and massage places. Massages in the hotel are ridiculously expensive, so go out! Criticisms? We were told we'd have 'Sea View' room but we couldn't see much sea behind the heaps of trees and banana palms - we think it might of got lost in translation about "seeing" a view.. It was a beautiful room though so can't really complain. Also, the day after we arrived they started "Upgrading Facilities" which in tourist speak means, "we're renovating the hotel for the NEXT guests". They tore up the lobby/bar sitting area and one of the 3 pools which was a bit inconvenient - but since it was the "family pool" we didn't care, but it was annoying the foyer bar gone. Rawai is 40 minutes from the main tourist drag - hire a car if you want to go out - but Evason is spectacular!

I would not go back because it does not have what I want in a vacation hotel.
This hotel is in 3 buildings cascading down the hillside for 8 floors. The buildings are connected with covered walkways through dense foliage and lots of stairs. The lowest building (4 floors) has an elevator but, if you are not fit enough to do stairs, forget it.

£2/$4 for still water
the hotel was very chic and the location was excellent; the buffet restaurant food was bgenerally not good and it was certainly not good value; the other restaurants were ridiculuously expensive- in the main restaurant the meals start at £40; forget about wine unless you have money to burn; they start at £40 a bottle unless you want the special offer at £20 (wine which usually sells for £4-5) what takes the bisuit is the hotel does not serve table water free- the only water available in the restaurants and on the exclusive island which belongs to the hotel is bottled water at £2 for a small bottle. No free and ready supply of drinking water in a five star hotel in the tropics?!!! exlusive island :only good for swimming at high tide - also watch out no free water!!! and packed like sardines on the beach. try to get out of the resort- get a rental car other wise £16 for a return journey to Patong
