Hilltop Escape >1 mile from North River Close to North River, Hone Quarry

7.4 out of 10, Good, (3)
"We only stayed one night, but the few hours were disappointing. I was expecting to write a glowing review after my request was granted for an early check-in. The property is gated, and the gate was not working so we were unable to enter upon arrival. The property advertises it can accommodate up to four people, but there were no sheets for the second bed and only two sets of towels for our party of three. There were no instructions on how to access streaming channels on the large Roku tv that...

"We had a great stay here as we passed through Harrisonburg on our drive from Nashville to PA. Kitchen amenities and snacks were awesome. Dogs were super friendly and we appreciated the advanced notice asking if it was OK for them to greet us. It would have been nice to have WiFi access and/or a TV, but we played games instead. "

"For us it was a nice, relaxing getaway from the daily hustle and bustle of city life. The charming cottage offered us a peaceful retreat with stunning views. Our host Fern was an angel, she answered our every queries promptly, she greeted us in person despite arriving late at night, checked back with us the following day!! The refrigerator and pantry were fully stocked, and the place was so thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. We'll definitely be back!!"

Hilltop Escape >1 mile from North River

9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (9)
"We arrived after dark and there was zero lighting toward the door (had to use iPhone light). Approaching the front door, we saw a bag of garbage ripped open and blocking our path to the door. We moved the garbage and retrieved the key, per directions. The key would not open the door. We attempted multiple times without success. Calls to the host went to an answering machine. We attempted to contact them via the “call” button on the driveway gate without success. Ultimately, we had to find a...
