"We stopped overnight on our way to Le Shuttle. Huge room and bathroom. Very clean. Comfortable bed . Didn’t eat here since cannot comment. Didn’t have breakfast which we considered too expensive and instead went to M&S next door . Parking costs an extra £5 which I always find very annoying if I am booking a hotel. Receptionist in the evening was not very friendly which is why 4 stars but morning receptionist was very cheerful . "

"Room, bed and pillows were good. Staff polite. Only one thing i picked up on, the.food hygiene of the staff was poor. Person touched the loaf of bread with bare hands, should of left it in the selophane bag. Another, brought cups, then glasses out carried with fingers inside. The Staphylococcus bacteria could be passed to customers Bacteria could be passed on"

"It was a lovely hotel. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The down side it was a bit tired, I was in room 226 and the plug was rusted, bath stained but clean if that makes sense. The tables at dinner time were still full of glasses and plates from previous diners but that’s it, not a massive massive deal but more of a get that right and 5 star all the way. Would definitely stay again though. I didn’t use any of the facilities "

Fantastic country pub

"This is an excellent pub. The service was exceptional, the food was very good and the ambience and atmosphere fantastic. This is a characterful old building with lots of books and crannies. Good beer too. The accommodation is good - a little like motel accommodation at the back of the pub in separate purpose-built buildings. It was comfortable and suited our needs well. Would definitely return. "
