an unfortunate experience
The property is well-located with a nice interior, but unfortunately, our experience was affected by several issues. The hot water system on the upper level was broken, and the outdoor furniture was dirty. However, we did not raise these concerns initially. The problem arose when the owner contacted us with an unjustified 1,000 charge. The owner made false claims, including dog hair on the bed, stains on the couch, and a scratch on the wall—none of which were true. We had taken photos beforehand, and given that our dog has very short fur, these claims were highly implausible. The only issue we had was an accidentally dropped a glass cup, which broke when it hit the stone or ceramic sink. I immediately reported the incident with photos, but the owner did not respond. Seven days later, after we check out, the owner claimed the 1,000 penalty and stated that the broken glass was "crystal," which seemed highly questionable, as the property’s dinnerware was a standard brand (Anko from Kmart). Additionally, a penalty was applied for failing to collect rubbish from the bathroom bins. This was only communicated to us at the last minute via the portal, and it stated a request rather than a mandatory task with penalties. Thankfully, Stayz customer service intervened and resolved the issue.
