GREAT location/overpriced for November
Beautiful historic neighborhood with easy walking to everything. Nice neighbors and REALLY fabulous food at Mercy's Tavern (one block). NICE parking and outside seating that is relaxing, safe and private enough. As far as the house; clean, cute, good vibe. Livingroom desperately needs comfortable seating as there is one comfy chair. No ice maker or pod-coffee maker. Stairs are rough so make sure you have everything you need when going up. I would not bring children here. Beds are FABULOUS, mini splits in each for great temp control. House has all needed basics and an abundance of nice towels. Not having a fireplace, hot tub, bedroom tvs or comfortable seating, makes for it being overpriced. That said, if you don't mind that, it's a nice home base for sleeping and walking about. It is very clean, pillows are not bad and even though we had no problems finding parking around town, if you come to Salem during busy seasons, this parking can't be beat. Check in was easy and smooth and quick, attentive communication with Dale. .

Lovely short stay!
Very cozy and well maintained house. You do need to remember as with all old houses stairs are narrow and floors can be uneven especially on the upper floor but that is part of the charm!

We loved our stay at the cottage. The remodeling was beautifully done while still maintaining the integrity of the historic nature of the home. Having the extra half bath was so convenient and the kitchen was beautiful and updated. The location was perfect - quiet and convenient to everything Salem! We genuinely enjoyed our stay!

Lovely house
Beautiful home built in the 1790s, easy walk into town and it was a 3 minute walk to the House of the Seven Gables. The beds were very comfortable and the two bathrooms worked out for the four of us even though one was only a sink and toilet. I would definitely stay there again, very charming place.

A Slice of History!
What an amazing property and location. Just enough modern amenities to not overpower the old-school charm. The neighborhood was amazing to walk through to read all the house plaques. Plus, it's 1/2 block from the House of Seven Gables and another block to a small snippet of the ocean. The location was so fantastic that we could walk to all our destinations. We had tickets to So Sweet, ate at great restaurants, and took a ghost walk. We had so much fun, we'd like to come back during the summer months. Thanks for a lovely weekend!! I highly recommend it with zero reservations!

Beautiful 18th century home in the heart of Salem's historic district.
This house was perfect. First of all, it was spotless. Everything was clean, and comfortable. The bedrooms were very nice, comfortable beds, cozy living room and nice kitchen. It felt like you were stepping back in time in this house in every way with the exception of modern convenience. the air conditioners kept the place cool, but they were silent. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was excellent. Over all a great house that is super cute and so great because it was built in 1739. The location though may be the best part. It is one block from the House of the 7 Gables, which is amazing. We wnet for the tour and it was completely worth it. Our 10 year ols and 13 year old both agree that tour was possibly the best thing we did on our vacation, which also included visiting the beaches of Cape Cod, go carts, kayaking and a dozen other awesome things and the tour of a 17th century historical landmark house was at the top of their list. You have to take the tour to see why, it's very interesting. We think our tour guide Stephen really made it memorable. His story telling brought us right back to the year 1700. Salem is a beautiful city, with extremely interesting things to see and do and this house really sets the stage for the stay. I am trying to get my friends and family to go stay there.
