Soaring 165 metres into the sky, this is one of the largest and tallest Ferris wheels in the world.

The Singapore Flyer offers spectacular views of the dramatic Singapore skyline and over three countries. It is a huge favourite with tourists, who love the view from 42 stories high. Families and groups of friends are very welcome, and are easily accommodated together in the spacious air-conditioned capsules. The wheel was massively popular with local people when first built, but these days you won't have to queue for too long.

Stretching beyond the tops of Singapore's skyscrapers, the distances you can see are awe-inspiring. As well as a birds-eye view of the city and the island, you are treated to a vista which includes Malaysia to the north and the island of Batam (part of Indonesia) across the waves. The local Formula 1 Grand Prix racing track is easily spotted from above, and the Singapore Flyer is unsurprisingly very popular at dusk due to the wonderful sunsets in this part of the world.

For a more luxurious experience, or to treat that special someone, go Sky Dining. Including a full four-course meal and your very own butler service, this is definitely a good choice to celebrate the big occasion. Try the famous Singapore Sling cocktail when you hit the heights, or alternatively, take a High Tea flight for a more cultivated afternoon in the sky.

The Singapore Flyer is at the Marina Centre, adjacent to the city centre. Jump on the MRT to the Promenade Station on the Circle Line, or take the car and leave it at the multi-storey car park at the wheel. The Singapore Flyer is open every day, and tickets can be obtained on the website or at the ticket office when you visit.
