Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. "I stayed at the Birdham in late January 2025. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was particularly good - excellent menu, good cooked options, and delicious. I used the restaurant and bar on one evening, which again was excellent - good choices, delicious food, and a good atmosphere, it was used both by locals, and for business meetings. I would recommend the Birdham to anyone looking to stay in Bembridge or the Isle of Wight."

"Our second stay in this group of Boutique Hotels, and we were given a complimentary upgrade which was amazing!. The group of hotels have a small number of rooms, which makes them ideal for a quiet stay and the rooms are lovely and comfy. We had breakfast included which was nice and as part of their chain there is a local pub just up the road to have a meal in, should you choose. We had Sunday dinner there was lovely. "Such a wonderful little hotel in an ideal location. 5 minute walk from the pier and arcades, 15 minutes or so to both shopping centres ( Gunwharf/cascades ) with the theatre being even closer if that is included in your poa for your time away! Lovely clean rooms, quite a personal experience with only me and my wife with the owner at breakfast but we liked it that way. Would recommend to anyone and will be back soon!
