"Really lovely find, lovely property, very clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again. Only issue was trying to find the 'central area' to drop off our rubbish, only bin we could find was behind some barriers, so had to leave it outside the property. Maybe a map of the area in the property folder would be handy. Thank you!"

Some of the double bedrooms were smaller than expected but fine overall. Beds were very comfortable. It was useful to have extra living space in the annexe. "We stayed at Keepers Cottage for 6 days in early October. The cottage, although very compact, has everything you need, and more. The hosts have really thought of everything when it comes to facilities for your dogs. The secure exercise field was an absolute favourite with Nougat and Sully, our two bull terriers, they were just so excited to go in there each morning, and last thing each day. Its also great having a safe enclosed area outside the front of the cottage for them to do their business....

"The property is clean and well maintained there are a significant amount of steps to get to it (I counted 62 in all) but the views at the top are worth it. One word of warning though, I found out to my dismay that there was no network coverage at the property so you can't access the email containing your key code to get in the property when you arrive so make a note of it beforehand. I didn't and had to walk back down all those steps to the main car park to get reception and access the email...

"Accomodation was fantastic and welcome to the site was brilliant. Only issue we encountered was the external sewage pipes as they ran along side the cabin. From day 1 it appeared to be a problem with some sort of blokage and contractor out every morning trying to sort it out. The foul stench left behind after contractor finished was quite overwhelming, especially coming back into the main bedroom ensuite toilet. Thankfully we were out and about everyday with friends, so only had to contend with...

On arrival at the front of the hotel it looked closed as it had no outside lighting, not even the hotel sign was lit, some might have been concerned, even walked away, given the untidy, distressed look to the hotel which is somewhat dire. "This hotel is amazing!!! We have stayed in many five star hotels and this should be a five star hotel!!! It is extremely clean. The rooms are excellent, very good bathrooms. All furnished to a high standard. Would definitely recommend to friends and would definitely stay again. The history to this place is an added extra and the tours are a must"

"Room was lovely and spacious and the hotel is wonderfully positioned especially for Rick Stein’s restaurant. Room was not as clean as it could be and the bathroom had some mould around the shower which needs sorting. Parking is paid for if you don’t book direct with the hotel which seems highly unreasonable. Continental breakfast selection was great and the staff were excellent and very friendly. We only ate in the restaurant once but it was delicious. Lovely hotel and you cannot fault the staff who were extremely helpful."
