Formerly the home of actor Sir Donald Sinden, this luxury 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom holiday home, tastefully refurbished, has retained much of its original charisma and charm, blending modern comfort with the warmth and authenticity of more traditional furniture, fittings and antiquities.
Accommodating up to 12 guests, it provides a perfect setting for both cosy intimate get-togethers plus larger entertaining. Many other splendid family gatherings, as well as high profile guests, from fellow Thespians & Artists to Politicians & Royalty have been successfully hosted here over the years.
The main terrace, with accompanying hot tub and comfortable seating area has unrestricted stunning views, providing a relaxed entertaining space with all-day sun. There is also a generous Garden House with Games facilities,, including pool table, table tennis, table football, yoga mat, TV, WiFi and sofa bed, as well as a dedicated desk area for those all-important meetings (away from the daily rabble).
The closest town, Tenterden, is only 3 miles away. Named the ‘Jewel of the Weald’ and recently ranked the most ‘stylish’ place to live in Kent. Tenterden, known for its tree-lined High Street and stunning buildings, is a charming town with plenty of shops, sporting activities and other attractions.
A favoured spot for cyclists and walkers, the house is placed firmly in wine country with many vineyards & wineries within close proximity, including the well-known Chapel Down Vineyard its 2 AA Rosette restaurant, The Swan Wine Kitchen, just two fields away.
The popular local Ferry Inn is within walking distance, serving great food, local ales & wines, as well as award-winning burgers and a beer garden to view the incredible sunsets.
Small Hythe Place, former home of Dame Ellen Terry, is also within walking distance, with several other National Trust properties, including Sissinghurst Gardens nearby.
The historic town of Rye, expansive golden beaches at Camber Sands, Willow Farm Shooting Ground for a few rounds of clays, Headcorn Aerodrome (if skydiving is on the bucket list) and many more landmark locations are within a short drive. London is accessible in just an hour from the local railway station, a few miles away.
Please note the main house sleeps 10/12 guests, 10 in the five king or twin bedrooms. An additional 2 guests can be accommodated on two fold up beds in the main house and/or a double sofa bed plus fold out chair bed in the adjacent Garden House 30m away, with use of the main house facilities. On same day changeovers the hot tub may not be available until later in the evening on your day of arrival.
