Cheap Hotels & Resorts in Towadakohan Onsen from AU$76

"Rooms are very basic and a lot of things are damaged and not working. We booked three rooms for three people and one was totally unserviceable so we ended up sharing one of the others. Rooms said they had private bathrooms but that was not the case. All rooms had to share a community toilet and there was only a Japanese washroom with no shower capability. No toiletries and no towels. Also map locations showed hostel along the lake but it was really over a 1km away up a slight hill. Feel this hostel misrepresented the rooms and location and will not be staying here again. There is another hostel called backpackers hostel that I would recommend over this run down option. It is closer to the lake and based on the way this hostel advertised, I actually had thought this hostel was backpackers hostel but it is not. Positives are: It was self checkin and they do offer bikes and moped for free use which is nice. I paid too much ($30) per person expecting private rooms and private bathroom and did not receive this. Lights did not work in two out of the three rooms. A/c was broken in one of the rooms. Power outlets were dangerous."
