It was very clean on arrival and was really well equipped with everything you could need for cooking meals. All appliances worked well and were very easy to operate. "My husband and I and two friends from the States recently spent three wonderful nights at The Old Church on the Isle of Skye. The beautiful old church has been thoughtfully and beautifully restored and renovated into two 3 bedroom units with ample amenities. We were in the Preachers Rest and had beautiful views of the Little Minch Strait. The stunning grounds of the property were immaculate and lovingly cared for. "Overall, I liked this cottage. It is definitely out in the country so I hope anyone looking at this home understands that moths and spiders exist in the world. We named the spiders and left them alone and nobody was bothered by them. The info and photos online are dated and because that set expectations, our initial impression was disappointing - which planted a seed of doubt. "We had a great time on Skye, staying at Shore Cottage. It was just what we needed as a group of 3 couples travelling by van. We were able to spread out and relax. the views across the water to Portree and the Old man of Storr, first thing in the morning was fantastic. Well appointed with everything you need, great cooking facilitys and washing machine etc, to catchup with the laundry. A great place for a relaxing stay."

"John is a really nice guy to chat with and the place is a cozy and easy way to visit Skye."

"The property was spacious, clean and well presented. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs and the hard floors were easily kept clean from muddy paws. The location of the property allowed us to visit many places during our stay and the caretakers local knowledge allowed us to find a beach close by for the dogs to play in the water. All in all, an excellent place to be in and be based from."

"We LOVED this property and would definitely stay again if we were in the area. The room was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. It was a great location to walk to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and even the water. We had no issues parking and the staff were very friendly as well. It was a quiet place and we really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend! "

"Gorgeous property with a real Scottish feel. Staff is fantastic, the food at the restaurant is delicious and the bar is cozy, with a fire in the cold months and a great selection of beverages (even better at Seamus' Pub next door when open (but it was closed for our stay being the off-season). The rooms are excellent, the bathroom is great and has heated flooring & a heated towel rack. There are even many snack and drink options in the room. The breakfast was included with our stay and the menu was EXTENSIVE. We had a full Scottish breakfast (and I mean FULL) and eggs benedict with a homemade hollandaise sauce and local eggs. Lots of walks and sights to see very close by as well. You will not be sorry if you're lucky enough to stay here! "

A beautiful cabin on a hill..

"We had a wonderful stay for a couple of nights at Bracken Hide. Everyone we met were super friendly and nice. We liked our cabin, nice view and cosy. We paid for the breakfast and it was great. They had a set menu to choose from. There were a lot of choices. We ordered the Scottish breakfast the first day and Eggs Benedict the next. Made to order cappuccino and hot chocolate. The area was a nice base to explore the rest of Isle of Skye. You have to walk a little bit to get to your cabin from the parking lot and from the restaurant but they offer to take your luggage in their golf cart. Will return again. "
