"Nice hotel just off the main avenue, but in a bit of a off the beaten path. There are a few sketchy people around but it's very convenient to independence square, Palacio Salvo and old Montevideo. The restaurant recommendations made by the hotel were excellent. I've stayed here before and one thing worth mentioning is the wide swing in pricing, as cheap as $60 per night and sometimes over $100..."

"For 5 friends visiting from the UK this hotel served its purpose well. Positives: - A great location in the old part of the city. Close to the harbour and museums. - Breakfast was really good. Excellent choice of hot and cold food. - The swimming pool and gym were brilliant and we used these during the three night stay. - Friendly staff throughout the hotel. - The hotel felt safe and in a good area. Negatives: - The rooms are a bit tired looking and both the bedrooms and en-suites need a refresh. However, the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed our visit to Montevideo and the hotel added to that. The gym / pool facilities were very good and we made use of these daily. "

"The property is quietly situated in a residential neighborhood that is a close walk to the beach. We sat out on the balcony having a drink before dinner and the scene reminded me of Europe. The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. We dined at the hotel restaurant on consecutive nights and on both occasions we had the pleasure of Nicolaus guiding us through the menu, inserting suggestions of what wine would go best with the desired entre. You cant go wrong with the beef, but an unknown and delight was the local fish called Corovina. Thank you Nicolaus for expanding our taste buds and sharing a local fare that we would have not otherwise tried."
