"The service was excellent from the very start. Shortly after we completed the online booking, the hotel reached out to confirm our arrival time and offered to arrange a taxi if needed. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with drinks, and since the previous guests had already checked out, we were able to check in early. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay—exceptionally friendly and a pleasure to interact with. The room exceeded our expectations—much better than what the online photos had suggested. We were given a complimentary drink each evening too. The location was ideal, just a short walk (under 5 minutes) to the heart of Valletta. Bus 133, which stops just around the corner from the hotel, made it easy to get around central Malta as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Malta. "We had an excellent stay at the Cumberland Hotel and found it offered high standards in all areas, including reception, room cleanliness and facilities, and a varied and delicious breakfast. We found all the staff to be extremely welcoming and friendly and were highly impressed by the speed in which a problem with a loose tap in our bathroom was dealt with. The hotel is located in a very central location in the beautiful city of Valletta and we really miss hearing the bells of St John's Cathedral close by. Our only suggestion for improvement would be the addition of sun parasols for seating on the roof terrace as the high temperatures prevented any possibility of relaxing there for more than a few minutes. An all round most enjoyable stay though."
