Only negatives were that the bed is not very comfortable, and also the sound proofing is not very good so unless you have a fan on or something you'll be able to hear traffic and trains throughout the night. "We loved walking to the beach and restaurants, the cottage was comfortable, thoughtfully appointed and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay at the Merry Mermaid again!"

"It is kinda like a youth hostel, clean, and a place you can lay your head. The guy literally sleep in the room adjacent but almost never saw him with my coming and going. He was attentive, friendly, and not creep. Place was not bad at all just not a private room as if in a hotel. "

"The location is great and the house was very clean and had all of the amenities you could want. I liked that it has two wings of the house for privacy. The fire pit is a wonderful feature for the cool coastal nights. Every bedroom has access to the backyard which is nice. I would highly recommend this house.
