Viale Dante is a long street located within the touristic heart of Riccione. When you have had enough of the lively atmosphere, make your way to the beach, just minutes away on foot.

The best way to get to know Viale Dante is simply to set off on foot or bicycle and explore it at your own pace. Give yourself a good amount of time, as you are likely to stop often at its various intriguing stores, which include ice cream parlors and bookstores. A highlight of the street is the lovely open square, the Piazzale Ceccarini.

Note the beautiful and unusual fountain that stands in the square. Called the Fontana del Nuotatore, the Swimmer’s Fountain, it features an interesting statue of entwined fish and a man in a swimming position. Come in summer to see it surrounded by a ring of colorful flowers.

You will also find the Palazzo del Turismo on Piazzale Ceccarini. Enter this striking white building for info to help plan your visit. This is the town’s tourist information hub, as well as an events space where various exhibitions, talks and other events are held throughout the year.

Many of Riccione’s most interesting attractions are located within easy walking distance of Viale Dante. Visit Villa Mussolini, an exhibition space that was once the summer home of former Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. The large white building is on Viale Milano, which runs parallel to Viale Dante.

Look for another nearby attraction, the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art Villa Franceschi, which stands on Via Gorizia, close to the eastern end of Viale Dante. This lovely gallery is located in an elegant and historic villa.

Find Viale Dante easily as it is close to the seafront and runs straight through the heart of the downtown area. The street starts in the neighborhood of Cattolica and runs northwest for nearly 6 miles (10 kilometers).
