The location of the hotel, on top of a hill, gives to great view of the sunset and sunrise as well as being a good marker for navigating back when you explore the small town by foot. "

Chozin, who manages the resort was particularly helpful and I could always count on her to help me in many capacities. Her English skills are very good and she was able to help tremendously. "The Heritage is honestly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and they also speak great English. The building and the rooms are beautiful, as are the grounds. "

"We stayed there after the walk from Inle Lake before we travelled on. We could wash our shoes in the backyard which was necessairy! The Lady at the reception is very friendly. For one night it is ok, but there us not much to do in Kalaw."

"Arrived at the hotel and hotel staff mentioned that they do not have agreement with Expedia since 2019. I wonder why Expedia still list this hotel in the website. Fully paid for rooms and still awaiting reply on refund."

"This hotel is excellent! I had a large and comfortable room. The staff is kind and responsive, with the added benefit of allowing me to check in at 4am after a grueling overnight bus ride from Yangon. The breakfast was excellent as well. I will note that hotel.com says the hotel is 8+ miles from City center. This is not correct. It is about a mile, it a 15-20 min walk."

"Older building needs bit of maintenance. Outstanding welcome with rose petals and towels folded into statuettes. No air con and quirky electricals. Breakfast only just OK, could have been better for budget. Stairs, no lift, par for course for Myanmar. Had to ask for basics like tea bags (also par for course for Myanmar where it is assumed you want coffee)."
