Volmerswerth Hotels, Düsseldorf

"This hotel was in a great location close to the train station and one of the Christmas Markets, which was the purpose of our trip. It's also just a few doors down from a supermarket. Hotel was clean, breakfast (not included) was great, and lobby was spacious (hubby hung out here while waiting for me to wake up). Also had plenty of outdoor space, especially for a city hotel. Make sure to take in the view from the roof top deck! A few "negatives" had to do with the actual room. Our room was a little on the small size, even though we paid for an Extra Space room. Didn't like that there were only outlets and a nightstand on one side of the bed. I had to plug my electronics in on the desk which was across the room. Also, not a lot of places to put your stuff. There is a weird "closet" space with some shelves but not enough for 2 of us. I ended up clearing the desk off and putting my things there. Bathroom was fine although a little on the small side. The way the shower is the floor does get a little wet but we've stayed in hotels where that is much worse. Overall we were happy with the value and would stay again."

"I really loved my stay here and the restaurant on the roof is lovely. There is construction work outside which is annoying but it's not the fault of the hotel. The rooms are great and there are lots of quirky characteristics to the hotel itself. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it."
