"Basic motel style but no twin rooms, the price at the place was 600baht for a single and 1200 for a double so we asked to change to 2 singles, which caused mayhem and we kept being put on the phone to someone who spoke English but still said we’d have to pay extra, eventually the lady took us to a suitable room but no top sheets and the bedcover was filthy. The shower was great though and bathroom clean, no bedside lights."

The area would be better with a car but its accessible by grab too which is how we managed it as a family of three :D A microwave in the room would be a really good addition. "The Chom Chiang Rai Hotel opened just 12 months ago. Everything is new and sparkly with plenty of great on-site carparking. Staff are very accommodating to your requirements.
On the negative side I have two comments.........
1. Location - The hotel is a short distance out of the centre of Chiang Rai so it will better suit travellers with a vehicle. I had my own vehicle so getting around wasn't a problem but most holiday makers will usually organise guided tours that will pick you up from the...
