"A well aged puzzle piece bach, in NZ forest, tucked down a dead end road. Surprising amount of traffic on the road during our stay. Neighbours were quite noisy also but the bach had everything we needed. Hot water for a shower was a bonus. The old Shacklock range is prone to smoking out the bach but I think we figured it out after a few days. Reliable cell service is back at the Orwell Creek Road turnoff, for those wondering. "We loved everything about this home. Comfortable, modern, easy access, wonderful views in living rooms and bedrooms, well-equipped, large rooms, serene. It was absolutely fantastic!"

"We loved this location, a few minutes' walk to the wonderful Makarora river braidplain. The house is unique: rustic and a little run down. Comfortable enough if you aren't expecting luxury. Some things could use a little updating (i.e. floors and bath fittings) but all this is secondary to the stunning landscape. We enjoyed our 10 days exploring the area--be sure to check out The Craypot fish and chippie at the end of the road over Haast Pass and the Wilkin Jet Boat tours."

"The house was well presented in a good location. Good amenities and space for couples. Two out of the three couples we were with did mention that the beds were quite uncomfortable and it was hard to have a good nights sleep. So it could be worth checking the mattresses. Also it was quite a late check in time considered it is winter, when we arrived we all needed a hot shower due to being out on the river all day but still had to wait for the hot water cylinder to heat up after arriving at 4pm....
