Great location, quiet yet 5 mins Bowness centre, with walks from the door

Situated on the first floor of a part of a Victorian gentleman's house, at the top of a hill with views of Lake Windermere and Claife Heights. One of only four flats in the building. Conveniently located in a quiet location, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Bowness, with it's wide selection of restaurants, pubs and shops, 8 minutes from the lake cruise jetty. One mile from Windermere railway station, so no car needed. The apartment backs onto National Trust land, 100 metres from the start of the Dalesway long distance footpath, with a variety of walks from the doorstep. There are two bedrooms, a double and a single. The flat has a modern kitchen and a shower room refitted in 2018. It features gas central heating, wifi and has off street parking for two cars. Please note that the walk from the village is steep, though there is a gentler route up via Langrigg Drive. The corridor to the kitchen has three unguarded steps ( see photo). No pets allowed.

Ideal location, great property
The flat is very quiet, clean, lovely decor and everything was of very good quality. Views over Windermere, so close to amenities, yet completely peaceful. It is firmly on our favourites list. Owners very responsive and pleasant to deal with.

Cannot fault!
A great and quiet location, easy walking distance to the busier centre of Bowness. We found the hill not to difficult to negotiate, and enjoyed not needing our car to get around. The apartment had all the equipment we needed, comfortable beds and absolutely immaculate. All credit to the cleaner! Lots of local walks which we tried - the weather was excellent, and the walk just from the back of the property lead to some great views! Communication with the owner was excellent, checking on if we had any questions/problems, and flexible with check-in/checkout times which we really appreciated. We would definitely recommend (in fact already have done!) and would love to come back again.

Excellent location
Comfortable, quiet, spotlessly clean and well equipped apartment. Great location just out of the hussle and bustle of Bowness centre just a small hill to negotiate on the way back, but still really close to all the facilities. Would definitely stay there again.

Late summer break
The property was very comfortable and clean, with plenty of space and a well appointed kitchen. It was within easy walking distance of the town and all amenities. We received helpful information from the owner, which enabled us to plan our stay and book some restaurants before arriving.

Had a lovely break, walks from the apartment were great to keep you fit. Apartment was lovely but have one suggestion, the duvet wasn't quite wide enough for the beds, I ended up sleeping in the spare bed so that I could keep wrapped up. All in all we had a lovely holiday.

Wonderful stay in Bowness
The apartment was lovely and clean and was a real home from home. The location was excellent, right in the heart of Bowness (yes, there is a steep walk up to it but there is an alternative route which we didn't actually use). The views from the lounge and main bedroom of lake Windermere were lovely and we watched a couple of amazing sunsets from the sofa! Allen gave us a wealth of information before our stay and answered all our questions quickly. Thank you, we will be back!

Little gem with a great view of the lake
The flat was extremely clean and well appointed. There is a view of the lake from the sitting room which was nice. The location is very central although the property is at the flat of a steep hill. Great walks from the doorstep. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Excellent - would highly recommend!
Everything about this property and the hosts is spot on. The accommodation is clean, well thought through and a home from home. A great location (yes it’s up a hill but it’s easy to walk up and the views are amazing!) The hosts provided excellent information both before and during the stay and the suggested walks were expertly detailed. I wouldn’t hesitate in coming back, an all-round great place to stay.

Lovely flat. Spacious and clean. Hosts communication very good. Hillside location so amazing views of course the trade off being the walk up the hill. Gentler route is possible, we used that everyday without resorting to need for taxis. All in all excellent and Bowness as usual lived up to my expectations. Thanks for a comfortable stay.

Perfect stay for everyone
Our group of 3 were really impressed with everything this little gem had to offer. From the modern furnishings and appliances to the stunning views, we really couldn't have asked for more! Every morning we were greeted by a spectacular overview of Lake Windermere in the warm, hive heated living room. The flat is situated on a fairly steep incline which could be difficult for elderly to walk up but many of the local taxi services are friendly and had no problem accessing its location. A really handy aspect of the property was how close it is to the little town, literally a 5 minute walk down to the local pubs, bakeries and shops. We are definitely coming back for round 2 as this area had so much more to offer than we could fit in! The communication with the owner was sublime, every message was politely answered and with maximum effort. Thanks again for all of your hard work to make our stay as comfortable and brilliant as possible!

Satisfied customer. We couldn't fault this holiday property.
This was ideal for the 2 of us, as we need separate rooms.The views are spectacular and even though we are octogenarians we managed the hills! Everything necessary was provided except a mirror NEXT to a socket for hair drying.

Lovely flat, spotlessly clean, excellent location and great communication leading up to our stay. Our host also left a birthday card and present for my father - in - law who was celebrating his 804 birthday which was a really nice touch and a very kind thought. Our stay was fantastic!

Cosy flat with great location
The flat is perfect for a 3 members family. It’s like a home to my family. Nice and well decorated kitchen with cooker, oven, microwave and dish washing machine. Central heating can be used any time. This really helped when we got wet in a heavy rain. The location is very good, only 8 minutes away from the pier. The bus station is near the pier, where you can take the buses to any nearby lakes. Landlord is helpful. He provided a full itinerary for 5 days. I can’t thank him too much for that. We followed his advice and had a great time.

Lovely stay
This was a lovely property in a fantastic location, with a beautiful view of the lake. It was clean and well equipped, which is just what we needed. The beds were really comfy and the apartment was spacious yet also had a cosy feel about it. Check-in process was easy and straightforward. There were lots of walks nearby and it was only a 5 minute walk from the lake and the shops in Bowness.
