"First time at Cragwood and it won't the last. The staff are all very friendly and the hotel is very clean, my room was spotless. One of the biggest selling points is there is a large car park, something hard to find at other hotels in The Lakes unless you pay double the room rate."

"Lovely room and fantastic location! Helpful and friendly staff. Amazing food & bar. Spa facilities were fantastic. The bed was uncomfortable but we asked for a mattress topper and it was brought to our room almost instantly. The bathroom was average - water pressure and temperature wasn’t consistent and weren’t supplied with a bath mat. £10 per day charge for car parking but overall really lovely hotel & staff. "

"Free parking and views of lake from the dining room were very good. Half board - the dinner was good but overpriced so the 10% service charge worked out extortionate. NOT GOOD We were put in a small loft room with a difficult door to open and a tight stair access- the room and whole property needs a lick of paint and could be cleaner. Location too far from bowness - walking into town is 20minutes but on both roads which had no pavement so very dangerous. Wouldn’t stay here again ."

"We were thrilled with our choice of Hillthwaite. It has a central location near to both Windermere and Bowness yet high enough on a hill to have views of Lake Windermere from rooms and public spaces. The hotel is beautifully organized with several public lounges: sun room, library, bar/lounge and restaurant–all of which feature Lake views, as well as outdoor terraces. We had a view of the Lake from our large "occasion" room. The room was lovely with chairs and a table to take in the view. The...
