"We stayed one night in The General's lodge. It was clean and perfect for our needs. The staff, especially Nona, could not have been more friendly and helpful. My only recommendation would be to lower your pet fee from $250, to $100 per stay. I did not bring my dog on this trip because it was cheaper to get a sitter. Had the pet fee been lower, I would have booked the whole holiday weekend instead of just one night. This is just a suggestion and not a critique! It was a great stay!"

"Great for a cheaper overnight stay than others in the area. Rooms could use serious modernization. Air conditioner is a noisy room unit. They stopped serving a continental breakfast a while back. Room was clean. Owners are very nice and helpful. No frills, bare bones, but not a bad budget room for trippers to the area."

"Every year my friends and I rent a cabin for New Years Eve. "The property is new and the rooms still have that new room smell - lovely! The area around the hotel is being developed. This hotel has limited office hours and appears to have mostly long-term guests. The family that runs the hotel are very kind. Some suggestions: add some kind of towel bar and hooks in the bathroom and the wash cloths could be a better quality - one they get wet, they almost disintegrate."
