"I read the varying reviews on this hotel and I was a little wary but tbf we had no issues with the place. Yes it’s dated but it sort of goes with the wackiness of it all. Good sleep, decent room with a view, great breakfast and all within a reasonable price. The view from upper rooms are just worthy of * themselves. Don’t be put off by bad reviews the hotel is fine and cheap."

"I grew up in the area. It's nice to visit with an "old friend". Easy on the hip pocket, friendly helpful staff and within walking distance of everything you need. Even if I don't require accommodation, a trip to "The Aussie" is a must whenever I travel to Boonah/Fassifern Valley/Scenic Rim!"

"This is a classic country motel, nothing flash but clean and has everything one needs for a comfortable short stay. Air conditioning, a fan, mirrors, extra pillows, good access to power points and lamp switches and well placed bins. It is also a short 10 minute walk to the main street of Boonah."

"Enjoyed our stay at Gatekeepers. Very quiet, clean and perfect accomodation for our getaway enjoying the beautiful views across the valley. Loved sitting on the verandah whilst the bird life visited morning & evening and the horses reached out for a loving pat. I could watch the cattle grazing everyday (but then wait) adventure awaited in the faraway mountains with endless mountain streams running beneath the forest canopies a bushwalkers paradise. "Excellent Farmstay for the kids. So many activities to keep them occupied. Creek was beautiful and at our doorstep. Cabins are spread apart so we had privacy and lots of space. Great we could take our dog there also. We will be back again soon."

"This is a "Tiny" house - very small to what we expected but at least it has a large verandah with an outdoor table & seats plus 2 sun chairs where one can sit out and admire the lovely mountain view. Ample power points. Firepit out the front with BBQ hotplates & mesh grill was used every day & for us this was the highlight and the reason we chose this property. The immediate surrounds are untidy and ugly - mainly old building debris which should be cleaned away if it's to be used for...
