"I booked an impromptu overnight trip to Pitlochry for my wife and I to chill out and relax. Check in was straightforward and we were given a room with a view of sorts, basically a view of the car park and a part of the hills. Room unfortunately smelled of wet dog, it was clean but there was a lingering smell. We adjourned to the bar for a few drinks and then ordered some food, you pay for the food before you get it not s fan of that also it was pointed out if I wanted to leave a tip when I was paying, sorry not until I’ve tasted the food. The food itself was nothing spectacular just your average burgers, pizza, steak pie etc and if you choose to have this option then you sitting on sofas with a coffee table to eat, not ideal or you can opt for the restaurant that’s better seating. Sleep was disturbed by what sounded like a karaoke party going on but unsure where as nothing was happening in the bar, Breakfast was the buffet style with option of cooked or cold food, patisseries , yoghurts etc The hotel looks like it’s had a revamp, rooms are clean but missing a things to do in the area. Didn’t use the leisure facilities on this trip. Would I stay there again, yes hoping that it was just a one off "

"We had a lovely nights stay. The room was really comfy and the staff very friendly. Great bar and tasty breakfast. The lounge room with roaring fire was amazing, especially on such a cold night. Highly recommend! "

"Really enjoyed our two-night stay in one of the turret suites. The hotel was still beautifully decorated for Christmas but very peaceful being a few days after Hogmanay. Overall condition of the building is excellent, especially given its age and historic nature, which must make it a real challenge to maintain. Our room, bathroom and the turret lounge above were very clean and well presented. Excellent comfy super-king bed. Public rooms were lovely - warm and welcoming. Swimming pool area was very clean and a pleasure to use."

"I like that the owner of the hotel is working front desk along with his staff and overseeing hotel operations personally. The property is recently built so everything is brand new. The rooms are comfortable and have all necessary basics. The breakfast was included and had a good variety of choices. Location is also perfect. It’s right at the beginning of the main road, walking distance to the town restaurants and shops. "

"Loved everything about the property. Staff were amazing , they were welcoming, warm, friendly and made every effort to make your stay a positive experience. The room we occupied was spacious and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty draw space to put your clothes into, but no hanging space. That said with the angles of the walls and the eaves of the room meant there was no place to actually fit a wardrobe for this purpose, so without major renovation to the room, this was beyond the hotels control. The only other minor point is that there was no toilet brush in the bathroom, but this by no means had any impact on our stay !"

"We stayed at Pine Trees Hotel for our wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked through the doors the extra thought they have put into the details were evident; from the dog bowls and treats for four legged friends to rain coats and Hunter wellies for the humans to borrow. Having had a recent revamp, the interior design is contemporary chique in deep warm colours without taking the attention away from the original Victorian features. It feels more like stepping into someone’s home than a boutique hotel. David at the reception - discretely placed by the main stair case the foyer - was very helpful - and even showed us the potential upgrade we could have in person. We didn’t go for the balcony room (25) as it was much smaller than our originally booked room; Snowdrop (Room 2) - which we absolutely loved! Cases were taken to our room by the lovely Paul, and the radio was playing Meatloaf as we walked through the doors. I appreciated the small details such as good quality coffee and teas and high quality bath products. In the hall just outside the room they had placed complimentary cakes and macarons alongside a milk fridge. There were complimentary welcome drinks waiting at Flora Bar. Dinner at Fauna was lovely; we had the Chateau Briand as our main. Only downside was that food came before our drinks and no water was offered. Waiters were very friendly and personable. We loved the a la carte breakfast which was delicious. We would love to come back (for room 4)!"
