"We stayed in the Kauri chalet and really liked it. The view is great. The connecting room, Rata’s view is even better, but that room is much smaller. If you are a bigger group, booking these two rooms together will be perfect. We woke up to the birdsongs and had a peaceful breakfast on the balcony. The stairs bring the charm to the place and we did not mind the extra steps. Owner/staff are very friendly. PAKnSAVE is only 6 minutes drive away."

"We stayed in unit 4 I believe, downstairs with a beautiful view of the ocean. Convenient parking to room, amazing that we could walk across the street and be on the beach for good seashell and sand dollar hunting. At high tide we went and sat on the stairs just to enjoy the ocean and full moon! The host was great and really attentive. Would stay again if/when we return to New Zealand. "
