"Very friendly staff and courtyard. Room was clean and comfortable. Would have really liked coffee available at the property and more reliable wifi. Website said “coffee in common areas”, but I never found it, if available. Kettle, fridge, dishes in the room, but no coffee — even instant. For my 1-night stay, it was fine walking to a beach café for take-out ☕️. Wifi was an issue as trying to make arrangements with a group."

"For the price paid the accommodation was very good, clean and larger than a Parisian hotel room. Towels were enough including the beach towel. The view is superb from the table in front of the door. The only miss was the coffe for the provided machine but the girl at the reception was helpful and the problem was solved."

The hosts were extraordinary - friendly, extremely helpful, kind and wonderful cooks (the breakfasts cooked to order were incredible, not to mention the daily ration of Raki !). Rooms beautifully decorated. The atmosphere with a private outdoor patio for breakfasts was small but picture perfect. They really know how to make the stay memorable. "Beautiful and unique space- so, be prepared to climb and then be rewarded for your efforts. We loved exploring Chania, we loved the property and wish we had an extra day just to spend lounging in the room and on the roof garden. We don't usually eat breakfast but would not miss this breakfast for anything, hot coffee, fresh juice, quiet old cafe feel. We truly appreciated the peaceful ,yet busy, mornings, smiling faces, and great service."

"This is a self-service hotel where you will receive the location and door code along with the key which associates to your room. The room had the basic necessities such as soap, towels and WiFi which were all I needed. The only issue I had was activating the A/C which did not work even after closing the window. Overall, I enjoyed Chania and TheJoy hotel and would come back again!"
