"Wonderful hotel beautiful room and housekeeping excellent. We were upgraded to a room that allowed drinks and canapés in the Cornwallis lounge. Fantastic location walking distance to the street art and Chew Jetty. Buffet in the evening is excellent value and the breakfast amazing. Staff also wonderful cannot fault this!"

"Central location, helpful staff and comfortable beds with fresh white linen. The decor was a bit shabby with unfinished paintwork on the walls and paint on the curtain. There was also no shower door. Otherwise it was clean and okay fir a short stay. "

"The hotel is very well place for those wishing to explore the city. Little India and Chinatown are fairly close and that's a relief as there are no alcohol sales in the hotel for thirsty guests. This is not mentioned on any site to our knowledge. The rooms are fine, the wifi powerful, and the value is good, But when the place is full, a gloomy secondary dining room is used for breakfast that is huge and warehouse-like, with curtains firmly drawn to hide the dirty windows. "I thought it is a beautifully restored heritage site that brings you back to the times of old and nostalgia. They have a great breakfast buffet and set local dishes. Lovely garden and small pool in the mansion ground."

"The hotel is a converted "shop house" (actually a mansion) filled with period furniture and artifacts. I had expected a "simple" breakfast but the choice was good. Room a bit spartan and there is no lift except to the most expensive rooms. So if you are not good on stairs or have heavy luggage, ask for a ground floor room. "
