Private beachfront 860 sq. ft. tastefully decorated studio suite, literally 22 steps to your own personal patio on the ocean in beautiful Maple Bay, British Columbia.
This fully equipped south facing private suite comes with a luxury queen-sized sleigh bed with ocean views. The fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, and stove also offers ocean views from the bay window. There is a 40" Sony flat-screen TV with cable and PVR and new freestanding cast iron propane fireplace for those cozy nights. With a full bathroom, new apartment sized washer and dryer plus quality bedding and towels makes this suite a wonderful get-a-way. The unit has a heat pump for quiet heating and cooling.

Just a few of the attractions that the Cowichan Valley and Maple Bay have to offer.
Shawnigan and Cowichan lakes are the perfect places for freshwater activities. The Koksilah and Cowichan rivers flow through the valley, in the fall the salmon run and are wonderful places to swim, cool off, and enjoy. Amazing!
We had to be out of our house for flood restoration, so we were not exactly in a vacation mood. But this place lifted our spirits. A convenient cozy set-up with all the amenities needed--and that's saying something for what turned into a 3 weeks stay! The view is stunning, and sitting by the ocean can calm the most frazzled of nerves. The hosts are incredible--gracious, accommodating, and super friendly. They are there if you need them, but in no way encroach on your personal space or privacy. We highly recommend staying here if you're in the Cowichan Valley area. Thank you, John and Patricia, for making a stressful period of time so much easier.

A comfortable situation on calm Maple Bay
This was a perfect spot from which to explore more of Vancouver Island than just Victoria. We are glad we found you! We hiked above Maple Bay to great views of the area. We had a beautiful day to walk the wide beach east of Parksville, then the beach walk at Qualicum. The rental was more than adequate for all we needed. The waterfront was calm and very pleasant. We watched animals, birds, boats, and the occasional sea plane. Thanks for making this spot available!

Wee gem on Maple Bay
We wanted to get out of the snow and see spring on the island and this property didn’t disappoint. For Carole and I this property was ultra relaxing especially the terrace near the water. Will definitely look at staying again.

The property was perfect for us. Amazing views!! Everything you could need for supplies. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. We needed a rejuvenating 2 week stay and we got just that. Can't think of anything that would have made it better.

A Lovely Spot
This spacious unit has everything you need. The view is spectacular. It is clean, quiet, and fully equipped. Take note that you really do need a car here unless you plan on just spending your time gazing at the view.

Seaside Tranquility
My wife and I had a wonderful and relaxing time in the Seaside Casita during a week in September. The studio was well equipped and very comfortable, and the reinvigorating view of Maple Bay was stellar. We enjoyed spending time at the water’s edge, only a dozen or so steps down from the studio. Two sea kayaks were available for our use to explore the coastline around the bay. The location was close to hiking, pubs, wineries, and restaurants. John and Patricia were incredible hosts who were always available to answer any questions, and handled the one unexpected hiccup (a hot water tank replacement) very professionally. We look forward to returning next summer.

Beautiful seaside oasis!!
This is a little piece of Heaven! I spend most of my time sitting by the sea and taking in the salty air, watching sea lions and even whales swim by. I enjoyed kayaking and an evening at the nearly pub. John is an excellent host, very helpful and responsive! I would definitely return and recommend it whole heartedly! This seaside casita is nestled in a wonderful quiet, friendly neighbourhood and perfect place for some solitude and to rejuvenate.

Ocean Front Parricide
We were welcomed by the host upon arrival, gave us a tour of the place and he let us know of things to see and do while we were there. During our 6 days there the hosts gave us full privacy but were there if needed. The ocean view and seating area on the ocean edge was breathtaking. I miss it already. What a hidden slice of paradise. If you go, keep a close eye out for the ocean creatures. The seals were very playful and the crabs were fun to watch at high tide. There is really good ocean side restraints close by. One is walking distance, and the other 2 are a few min drive away and the food is really good at all of them. Duncan shopping center is only a 10 to 15 min drive as well. It has everything you need there. The wife and I were blown away every morning we woke up overlooking the ocean and the bed is so comfortable you almost don't want to get out of it. The cabin is well equipped with everything you need besides the food you will want to bring. I can't wait to stay again. Thank you to the hosts John and Patricia. Thanks, Ian and Leanne

Perfect location for nature lovers. Directly on the private beach,completely established,perfectly equipped. 2 Kayaks for free,even killer whales passing by. We didn’t want to leave this paradise. Very friendly hosts. We want to come back!!

Maple Bay With a View
This little Casita is conveniently located in the heart of Maple Bay, near Duncan. From the time we arrived, we felt very welcomed by John, our host who greeted us upon arrival. We loved watching the full moon rise over the bay from the seaside Adirondack Chairs. We also enjoyed using the provided kayaks to cruise around the bay. At low tide, we saw many aquatic creatures such as starfish. We enjoyed the region as well, hiking Stony Hill park with breathtaking views. We took a top level whale watching trip out of Cowichan Bay. This VRBO was a great choice for a memorable vacation!

I found my inner peace
Came for a month to recharge re inspire and reinvent. Daily morning hikes up maple mountain, cold plunges in the clear waters of maple bay, beautiful sunrises and storm Watchung all in a warm and very private comfortable space perfect for soul searching and don't get me started on the bed - like a giant catchers mitt once in you never want to get out.

Magical Setting
My partner and I stayed at John's suite for an extended long weekend, and it was hard to leave! Our home has a spectacular ocean view, so our bar is high for views - and this one was as good as it gets! Our favourite part was having coffee/breakfast on those red chairs on the waterfront - then returning home from exploring the area to afternoon wine and snacks on the red chairs! I did some yoga on the deck while my partner went kayaking. We did a few local hikes - I highly recommend Stoney Hill Trail. If you have to pull yourself away from the view, that trail will not disappoint! The unit was very well equipped (better than most) and we could tell that everything about the place was designed with guests' comfort in mind. We would return in a heartbeat!

Retreat in Maple Bay
One of the best Oceanside retreats we have been too. Clean and well laid out house. Hosts were always very helpful and pleasant. Beautiful property that is on the water with water sport amenities. Great place to also relax and take in the sun. Plan to be back.

Gorgeous Location
If you're looking for a quiet getaway with a spectualar view of the water, this is the place to stay. John was very helpful with suggestions of places to eat and areas to hike. The unit is clean and very well equipped. We couldn't have hoped for more. We hiked the Orange Trail just up the road which took us to a spectacular grove of Garry Oaks where the view of the area was breathtaking. Don't miss the Stoney Hill walk either as the views of Samsun Narrows shouldn't be missed. We had our kayaks with us and did a few paddles in Maple Bay which were lovely. You can't go wrong with staying here. We will definitely return.

Beautiful stay on the bay!

Seaside Casita Maple Bay
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at this property. The owners gave detailed instructions and the checkin /checkout process was smooth. The most impressive part of this property was the view from every window. We spent evenings down by the water in front of the fire watching the seals swim by and the boats and float planes come in. The kitchen is well equipped to make meals and we used the insuite washer and dryer. We also spent a fun morning in the kayaks. Many thanks to John and Patricia for a memorable stay.

An amazing place to spend time.
We needed a place to stay during a much delayed visit of our west coast family.I grew up in Nanaimo,so was surprised to find this Little gem of a bay that I never knew existed. This beautiful spot is more a destination then a place to stay. Incredible views ,visiting seals, herons,eagles ,and my wife could not get over the hummingbirds. Sailboats on moorings ,and a very distant and beautiful sound of halyards ringing in my ears. The owners were available to answer any questions at all ,and the property was immaculate and very well equipped. I stay at 100 plus hotel rooms/VRBO sites every year. This property stands out. We will be back when visiting the left coast family. Thanks to the owners.
