Visit one of Queensland’s most popular holiday spots with sparkling beaches, scenic canals, high-rise hotels, nightclubs, festivals and modern malls.

The beachside suburb of Broadbeach is one of the most diverse locations on the Gold Coast. Fashion shopping, stunning beaches, a rich culinary diversity, legendary nightlife and a wide range of events make Broadbeach the perfect getaway year-round.

On a hot day, take a stroll down Broadbeach Boulevard and cool off in the waves of Kurrawa Beach, a popular spot for surfers and swimmers alike. When you’ve worked up an appetite, choose from more than 100 restaurants, cafés, gourmet delis, bistros and brasseries offering popular dishes from around the globe.

Enjoy the air-conditioned comfort of Pacific Fair, one of Australia’s largest retail centres. With more than 300 stores as well as cinemas, cafés and snack bars, you could spend the whole day there. For variety, head to The Oasis Shopping Centre or Niecon Plaza. These centres are home to boutiques, art galleries and jewelry stores.

Across the Gold Coast Highway is Jupiters Hotel and Casino, where you can lose track of time in the 24-hour casino, bars, lounges, restaurants and live shows. Register the designated driver in your group online, who will then receive free soft drinks at participating venues.

Time your visit to Broadbeach with one of the many festivals held throughout the year. Check out Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival in May or the Broadbeach Jazz Festival held in August. Both festivals are free and feature a number of outdoor stages as well as artists performing in venues throughout Broadbeach. In October, Opera in the Park is a fun and free family night out, with live concerts and a spectacular fireworks display.

Broachbeach is centrally located on the Gold Coast and stretches from Mermaid Beach north to Surfers Paradise. Keep in mind that school leavers celebrate “Schoolies” break in November, so you may want to avoid the partying crowds during this time. For panoramic vistas of the coast, book a room with ocean views in one of Broadbeach’s many high-rise hotels.
