"This property was a lovely all-in-one package. The Hotel's staff were very friendly, professional, and provided assistance where needed. "Being retired I was a bit nervous about staying in South Beach, as I had never been there before. The Avalon is a true gem! My husband and I loved it ! The hotel is adorable, clean and right at the boardwalk and beach. The staff were all amazing and accommodating. The beach was so clean and beautiful and there were so many great restaurants right there. The police presence at the beach and night life made us feel very safe. We loved it and will definitely be back! "

"Great little historic hotel right on Ocean Drive facing the beach! We really enjoyed the hotel and its charm! Our room was very clean and the marble floors are great! The staff were very friendly and responsive when called upon. Depending on the time of year parking can be a little tricky as the hotel has no onsite parking. Plan to park in one of the city parking garages or use one of the valet services on Collins Street behind the hotel ($50 a night during our stay.)"

"We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking Ocean Avenue. The view and the people watching were fantastic. Our AC broke early on, but the staff fixed it quickly and efficiently. The noise is there, but it did not bother us (although it might bother others who are more sensitive to that). Fun 1950s vibe in the room, with a wonderfully updated bathroom. Perfect location from which to go to the beach or around town. We had a great experience. "

The seams on the upholstery on the benches in the lobby were coming apart. We were in the second building, and the rooms were very spacious, but outdated. The carpet was coming up, the faucet on the kitchen sink was falling apart, the deadbolt did not work on the door. The bed and pillows were comfortable . "
