Beautiful views, creekside location
The property is fantastic! Beautiful views from every room!!! Bonus, it is creekside and you can hear the rushing water from the deck, still flowing Nov 30 :) Not happy with the check in, although the staff was nice, you have to pick up the key in town at check in time and return it by check out time as well, which cuts into the rental time… check in at 4 PM and check out at 10 AM :( There are much better deals out there, and flexible owners… I prefer to book directly with the owner.

Beautiful home, beautiful setting!
The home is wonderful - gorgeous all-wood architecture with soaring windows in the main bedroom. Decor is tasteful modern rustic, and furniture and bedding is comfortable and clean. The shady back deck overlooks the creek, with table seating for 6-8 and 4 additional chairs. Even with close neighbors on both sides, it feels very secluded and private. In the winter, it might be a bit cozy if all beds were full - the bar is the only indoor eating space, and the living room would only comfortably seat 4 adults. However, if the weather is warm enough to use the outdoor areas, you’ll have plenty of space. The jacuzzi was hot when we arrived - heaven! We did not cook, but the kitchen seemed to have everything you might need in terms of equipment, and there is also a grill that we did not use. Coffee, tea, and very basic spices were provided. Location is a short drive to the village - probably too far to walk for most people. My only comment is that these days, it is very easy to have a lockbox or keyless entry vs having to visit the office in town. Overall, the property is excellent, and we would love to come visit again!

Mountain escape
We enjoyed our short visit to Idyllwild and from what we saw hope to return. This cabin was very comfortable, the view in the master bedroom was amazing. Every where you look there are beautiful views or unique and well chosen artwork. It was a little hard to cook in the kitchen (stove was not easy to adjust flame and pots didn’t have matching lids) but we found wonderful restaurants. The deck was so peaceful to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

It was Just OK
1- It is not a 7 people home. One bed is full and you cannot even sit on it bc there is a bunk bed on top and you’ll hit your head to that. The room is tiny! There is no way two people can sleep on it! Maybe just 2 very young children, maybe! 2- One of us hit her head very badly to a sharp edge of a lamp frame and it cut his head. The frame was very low! Why would they place it there? So low??!!! It started bleeding and we needed alcohol in the middle of night. We were lucky it didn’t need stitches. I have pics! 3- The fire place did not work. All the smoke came back in and we we couldn’t make the fire. And yes, we followed all the instructions and opened the flue. 4- The room on the second floor has a spectacular view, BUT there is no wall that separates it from downstairs and you’ll hear people downstairs clearly, and can not sleep if someone down there is speaking!

Relaxing & Cozy Cabin
The cabin is a rustic gem with great mountain views. Overall it was a lovely get away and the staff who helped with check in are wonderful. Do note this will be a real vacation as WIFI was non-existent. If you want to enjoy sitting in the deck in the evenings it does get dark and there is no outdoor lighting. Bring a headlamp so you don't trip on the stairs.

Beautiful but with one fatal design flaw
Great place except that the master bedroom (with an incredible view of the trees and mountain) is more like an open loft than a clsoed bedroom. It has no wall or glass separating it from the rest of the house, so you can hear everything from the living room and kitchen. We couldn't fall asleep until everyone else left the living area and the minute someone walked into the living area in the morning, the sound would wake us up. So, terrible room for anyone who doens't sleep very soundly or has trouble sleeping. Still, very beautiful.

Property Review
The actual house is really cool. Nice creek in the back and the place, even though has neighbors, seems isolated. The only complaint is the property manager. They are overwhelmed, understaffed and extremely disorganized. There was also a dirty diaper on the deck when we came in, which is disappointing when you first walk into a place. Had to wait over an hour in line for a our keys. I would book the place again but not through this property manager.

Nice property in a great location
Had a wonderful visit. House was well stocked and had a great selection of family-friendly DVDs that our toddler enjoyed. Was a very hot weekend and, despite that lack of A/C, the house remained pretty cool given the location and fans.

Disappoint with cleanliness and management
This place gets a 2 star total because of the view from the master bedroom. When we got there it was not clean to the standards it should have been. There were cobwebs and dead flys everywhere and the dishes had food left on them. When we went to put the kids to bed we found sand all over under the covers as well as dead flys. The next morning we called the management office and left a message. Instead of calling us, they text us asking for proof, so went sent it. Hours went by and I finally text them back asking for an update they replied "I’ve forwarded it to the property manager to advise me". I thought they were the property managers...I guess not? Later we found stuff floating in a water pitcher that was left in the fridge. and sent them that picture as well. When we checked out and I handed the key to the man working in the office I told him how disappointed I was. We spent a lot of money and the place was not clean. We are dealing with Covid-19 and they don't seem to care that it was not clean. Again I got the "I’ve forwarded it to the property manager to advise me" speech. He fully brushed me off. It's been 2 days that they have had to call us back and still radio silence. I recommend finding a different cabin and don't go with the management of this place. They don't care about the renter. Also on top of that, we never got a confirmation on the place until we were 20 minutes away. We got a call asking what our eta was and that we got lost in the cracks. We didn't even know we had to go to an office to pick up the key. Very mismanaged and disappointing all around.

Everything we wanted, except the stars.
This house had cable tv in 2 of the three bedrooms, heated blankets in the bedrooms as well. They had a coffee maker, lots of cooking basics like oil and basic spices, even coffee and tea. The hot tub was waiting for us at 95 degrees. They even had a pre-lit artificial Christmas tree, as we visited in December and I lost my mind with excitement when I saw it, since I dont have one in my tiny LA apartment. Plenty of pots and pans and mugs and wine glasses, don't worry! Also yes there are can and wine openers respectively. But the views - if a view of mostly up close trees and a piece of a mountain top in the background is a spectacular view to you - you are gonna love it. But that not what i call spectacular. I brought a rented telescope to enjoy the legendary Idyllwild stargazing but the view was so obstructed by trees we couldn't see anything. Honestly I couldn't get a single celestial object in the viewfinder. So no big deal for most but - that's whats up. I would stay here again and plan too (without the telescope). I came up with friends and we enjoyed ourselves but next time i might like to come up here on a solo writing retreat, the house is made for that.

Excellent on all fronts!!!
This experience was absolutely wonderful. From check in to departure - and the snow storm/power outage in-between - all was handled incredibly professionally. We purchased wood for every day - and there was PLENTY. With the power outage we were so glad that we had. The property was very well stocked with the basics, and Anthony was prompt and on top of everything. We cooked like kings and queens for 4.5 days straight - the cabin had everything we needed. Definitely will not book with anyone other than New Spirit in Idyllwild. Their property management is exceptional and we will return. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Simple cabin near hiking trails
Our family of 5 enjoyed this cabin on the river. It’s location is on a quiet street near a hiking trail head, making it convenient for outdoor exploration. The master bedroom is spacious and looks out onto the forest for a wonderful view. The bunk bed room is basically a closet with a bunk bed in it. It is sufficient for two small children, but there is not much wiggle room. The kitchen was equipped for a short term stay, but was lacking in anything extra (bring your own dog bowls, coffee, and baking/mixing bowls if you plan on doing anything besides basic cooking). There is no air conditioning or fans, so it does get warm during the month of August (which we stayed), but we were able to manage it with all the windows open. We also checked in and hoped to have a late lunch on the deck, yet it was covered in dirt. There are definitely no extras with this cabin rental. But, if you are looking for a simple and cozy cabin in the mountains, it does the job. We are a family that travels often and only rents through vacation rental sites, and we would have expected a little bit more in a rental for the price we paid. This may simply be the efforts of the rental management company. But, overall, it was a fine experience.
