I liked the hotel very much. I read somewhere that Agatha Christie could have lived here. I think the characters in her works could have, too. The hotel is a three-minute leisurely walk from the Taksim metro station and the beginning of Istiklal Street. It's easy to find. Check-in was quick, the receptionist was friendly. The room was quite large and cozy. The furniture was in excellent condition; there was a kettle with tea and coffee supplies, a refrigerator with free water, which was replenished on the second day. The room was clean. It had various nice little things, in particular, slippers, a shoehorn, a sewing kit, etc. The shower had a strong water pressure, hot water was coming straight away. The breakfast was quite decent, there was a choice, everything was of a good quality. Wi-Fi was stable and fast. The only downside for me personally was the thick pillows. Overall, the hotel made an extremely positive impression.

The price of the stay is for the location only. For the services inside i guess it is overrated . The room is nice and clean. Breakfast is very basic and the breakfast room is so small. I arrived with my bags till the elevator and a guy insisted to take them for me in the elevator to the room where there was cleaning ladies and he stood up waiting for me to give him a tip without closing the door. It was very weird situation.

Germir Palas is a charming classical-style Turkish hotel off of Taksim Square. The front desk staff is personable, knowledgeable, and can communicate in various languages, including Turkish and English. The hotel is near the Metro M2 (green line) station, the Heritage Tram 2 stop (İstiklal Caddesi near the Republic Monument), and the F1 Taksim–Kabataş funicular line (which links with the T1 tram line (Kabataş to Bağcılar) that provides easy access to the Istanbul/Sultanahmet District. Taksim Square is in the Beyoğlu District, a popular shopping and dining destination for tourists and Istanbul residents. It's a fun and safe place for visiting individuals and families.
