Best Istanbul Historic Hotels

Pera Palace Hotel
5.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (1004)
"This is a beautiful historic hotel. Mustafa Ataturk stayed at this hotel as did many world known celebrities. The hotel had preserved the rooms that Ataturk used and now show them as a museum. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They always answer with a smile. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. "

Hotel Amira Istanbul
GLK PREMIER Acropol Suites & Spa - Special Class
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (1003)
"GLK Acropol staff was very kind and helpful throughout our stay in Istanbul, especially Mustafa and Emre. Hussein at reception was helpful in arranging the Bosphorus Cruise for us as well as transfer back to IST on our departure day. Although the hotel is a bit old, the management has kept it well maintained. The location of the hotel is phenomenal, however do keep in mind there several bars on this street, if you sleep in early be aware it can be some what noisy at night. "

Hotel Saint Sophia
4.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (838)
"The hotel's location is superb, the staff is terrific and the breakfast is excellent. However the rooms are very small and the showers are awkward and very slippery. We were unable to unpack our suitcases due to lack of space. If you are staying for 2 or 3 days, you will be fine. A shout out to the staff for arranging tours and assisting with logistics, as the hotel is in a no-drive zone. Have your taxi call the hotel and they will have someone meet you at the drop off to take you and your...

Ottoman Hotel Imperial - Special Class
4.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (1003)
"A quiet sanctuary a short stroll away from the key sights of the old town.Perfectly located behind the Aghia Sofia mosque. Attentive front desk and waiting staff. Authentic Ottoman dining experience in hotel restaurant. Complimentary breakfast. Early morning call to prayer from the mosque quite audible but wasn't a problem for us. We booked a larger front facing room on fourth floor which had a bathroom and a jaccuzi in the bedroom. We liked having the extra space. We enjoyed our stay at this...

Doubletree By Hilton Istanbul Old Town
5.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (1002)
"The staff were absolutely amazing. They even gave their istkart to my friend during the duration of the trip which was very much appreciated! The room was relatively clean, as were the linen and towels. Location was very good, right in front of the tram spot and walkable to the Sultanahmet area. The rooms next to us were smoking which was coming through the vents - not nice at all. The beds creaked and the mattresses were poor, soft and sunk."

Doubletree By Hilton Istanbul Old Town
The Bank Hotel Istanbul, a Member of Design Hotels - Special Class
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (1001)
"Not the cheapest place to stay, but reasonable by western standards, especially given the high level of service in a classic, elegant building in an excellent location. The spa services - especially the packaging of massage and hammam - were wonderful (though, again, not very cheap by Istanbul standards). The breakfast was excellent and included made-to-order eggs. The room was very comfortable, with all the amenities one would expect in a high-end hotel. "
