"The spa is quite far out but has accessable buses from Sendai Station. The onzen was wonderful and clean. Staff was very friendly and spoke english. Only word of caution is unless you eat at the hotel, dinner options are limited and youd have to walk into town. Still a wondeful experience and would definitely stay again if we are in the Miyagi area. "
"the stay came with breakfast and dinner every day. and really good breakfast and dinner too. breakfast was paired with tea service on the way to the dining area. dinner was paired with free chocolate and sparkling wine. the hot springs were amazing. private onsen available too. friendly staff. surprisingly easy to get to."
"It was very nice property but there only one onset facility except for the foot bath that was not covered and small… and the property only had one lounge area which serviced some rings & snacks but the lounge was too small for the amount of guess. Pause our room was in the 4th floor & stomping foot sound echoed all night "
"Incredible experience at Suzukiya Ryokan! Staff is incredible! They speak some English and you can communicate perfectly fine with all of them. They are so incredibly kind and welcoming! The room was very traditional with straw mats, room dividers, very comfortable beds on the floor. Hot spring baths indoors as well as outdoors were absolutely fantastic! They are separated by gender, you wash up before entering a really hot bath and relax like you haven't relaxed in a long time! Then they bring...
"Yoshikawaya Ryokan was a very awesome experience. Everyone was very accommodating. Dinner had a very different & delicious varieties of foods. Our stay was very memorable. They also offer a shuttle to and from the station."
"The room was clean and tidy, the front desk staff were always very friendly, and the housekeeping lady was also nice—I requested not to have my room tidied for two days, and every day she left a bag of new towels for me, I’m very thankful for that."
"About 10-15 minutes from Iizaka Onsen station. The hotel is situated uphill & is a traditional construction w/spacious parking area. Check-in is easy & short, & staff is friendly & polite. Our room has mountain view & can hear water running downstream when window open. Quite serene! Our meal plan included breakfast & dinner (half board). Japanese style dining w/good amount of food & varieties. Literally, they can fill you up. Separate indoor/outdoor public onsens for women & men. I suggested to...
"The building is very old and smells bad. The room was a smoking room before they made it non-smoking. It smelled. The bathroom was old but clean. The window was sanded glass so it was not possible to check the weather from the room, one had to go outside to check it. The lack of coin laundry is definitely a negative.
The stuff is very friend and helpful!"
"Hotel is a few minutes walk from subway station that is 2 stations from Sendai Station. It is walkable from endless shopping, restaurants, and bars. Sendai City Museum and Sendai Castle is a couple miles walk if you are ambitious enough. 7 11 is right around the corner.
Hotel is smaller room of course. Larger lobby area. Has AC that can freeze you to ice in August. It is a nice no frills clean reasonably priced hotel. Be aware the chain has a couple of hotels in the area so use street address...
"The place had thin walls so you could hear the people in the hallway and they can hear the things coming from your room. The walls to the outside and also thin so you can hear the street and the crows around the hotel."
"Good points:
*Quiet room and quite large (501)
*Clean room
*Good water pressure
*Nice towels
*Comfortable bed
*Very good breakfast buffet
*Attentive staff
*Handy location
Not so good points:
*WiFi doesn't work
*Room was cold but thermostat is locked needs to be changed in the office, staff changed it for me and brought blankets to the room.
*No phone in room to contact reception
*Aircon was noisy. After the room was warmed up, I switched it off.

"Close to Sendai station, nice people. bath spa was a little small, water a little cool for my tastes. 4 ppl in spa felt crowded for me, for instance. Not a big deal if you dont use.
Laundry services are a little more practical than other places ive stayed, though"
