Beach was lovely. Good surf. Beware of strong undertow. Found the surrounding area a bit grubby/rubbishy. No rubbish bins.

Karon beach has many hotels offering great accommodation for couples or families. There are also a huge variety of shops and the beach is beautiful and clean.

Karon and Kata beaches are good to view but look out after high tide when all the plastic stuff washes up and they don't clear anything away. Also not impressed with beach dogs who brawled, then mated in front of everyone. Why are dogs allowed on the beaches anyway? No one seems to care. I will also add our disappointment with beach cafes and eateries. A captured audience leads to high priced bland food and generally staff who don't really care. Best place and really good food/staff was Kata food market. Highly recommend this place to any visitor.
