"Stayed for 4 nights at Willows lodge. Clean tidy and welcoming, enclosed garden just right for my 2 dogs Fell asleep to the sounds of the birds and the cows and woke to the same. Really beautiful place and very friendly host. Definitely on the list for a return visit"

"The person that met me seemed very disinterested. The room they gave me didn't match the pictures on Hotels.com. It was tiny, I wouldn't have booked it if the pictures had shown the correct room. The shower didn't work. The person seemed unconcerned, just said a guest had broken it and there was a bathroom down the hall. The bathroom down the hall looked like someone's personal bathroom, with toothbrushes, lots of personal toiletries etc. The person didn't offer an alternative room, even though there were unbooked rooms. Wanted to charge me more if I moved to their other single room. The whole feel of the person who met me was of someone that really didn't want any guests. No information given about front door access times, checking out, other general info, just here's your room. I can sleep anywhere, I ofen camp in a tent so I'm not a fussy person. This is the first time I've ever left a poor review, I'm not a serial complainer. Just not "as described" wrong room, no shower, no interest shown by proprietor."

"We stayed at The Loft for the last week of the school holidays. The communication prior with the owners was very good and the check in process and directions were good. The house has 2 ground floor bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a very well appointed kitchen diner, including walking up liquid , dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent. Everything was beautiful with lots of attention to detail. Upstairs is a lovely lounge and balcony, there is a TV and a cupboard full of board games and another full of DVDs. It was our first time visiting Devon and the only drawback is the access roads to the beaches, including Challaborough. They are often single track with passing places. This made for some stressful driving experiences! Fortunately you have access to Challaborough beach at the end of the road or a 10-15 minute walk along the coastal path to Bigbury and Burgh Island beaches, which became our preferred one, as we ditched the car after a few days. Overall we cannot fault the house and the owners were very kind, and if you’re a confident driver then the location shouldn’t trouble you either. "

"We had such a lovely stay at the Ring O’Bells. It was easy to find and parking was good. Our room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. The staff were lovely and very helpful. A great spot to explore Salcombe from."
