"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"Every detail spot on. Beautiful furnishings, cosy environment with quality bedding, comfy beds and fluffy towels. Hot tub was amazing with great views. Home made cake and loaf with eggs and all essentials to get you started. Well equipped kitchen, fab showers and toiletries. Can’t fault in any way. Coming back soon."

"My wife and I have recently enjoyed a 4 night break at the Hayloft. The accommodation is super clean, very comfortable and has amazing views across the fields and hills. Worth noting a car, is required to access the property, ideally a 4x4, but not essential. Vicky and Tom were very friendly as were the hens and Smudge the cat. The property location offers numerous areas and attractions worth visiting. I would highly recommend a train trip from Kirkby Stephen station on the Carlisle - Settle...

"Arrived Friday with 3 friends for a relaxing weekend for my 40th birthday. Found the property to be perfect for a good relax and the hot tub was a great feature. Definitely looking to come back with family. Only tiny downside was some members of our party could hear the duel carriage at night butother than that, what a fab weekend!! "

"We loved our stay at mallard Lodge and would definitely recommend. The weather was awful but expected in January but it didn't stop the kids fun. Lots of places to see. Great walks. Was wonderful to return to a warm, cosy lodge and a relaxing dip in the hot tub. Not fantastic TV reception or WiFi but we were there to escape all that. Anything we needed help with, selina was only a call away. We are looking forward to visiting again. X"
