"What can I say, the Samloem Laguna Resort delivered for me!
I visited early November just as the rainy season was finishing, allowing the resort staff to prep outside areas for the upcoming season.
The Samloem Laguna Resort grows on you, I stayed in one of the jungle huts (no.6) which is set back and elevated from the coastline with sea views. At night it is very peaceful with the sounds of the jungle chattering away in the background, very relaxing...
The accomodation was simple but effective which is just what you want when staying in such a very relaxed location.
The restaurant offered a set breakfast selection and different daily options for the evening menu.
After being out all day on the Island I didn't feel the need to venture elsewhere for dinner, even as a vegetarian there was always something on the menu, the food was presented very well and tasted great, I was happy to compliment the chefs on the food.
Easy to feel at home at the Bar even as a solo traveller, all staff were attentive and soon understood your likes and requirements.
It's very worthwhile exploring the resorts grounds, there are lots of areas tucked away all offering something different, from the private beach to the pier to the pagoda type area on the water, which is great for breakfast, evening dining or just a coffee..
It was an emotional experience leaving the Laguna, the staff work hard to make your stay fulfilling, I'd happily return to Jungle hut No. 6 again..."
