We loved our stay at the Macdonald Hotel! We were so welcomed and this stay really made our trip to London worth it. For the price we paid we got exactly what we anticipated. The photos online are exactly what was shown. The location is very convenient, there is train station less than 5 minutes away. If you need an affordable, simple place to stay this is for you! We will definitely be back for our next stay!

4 adults in a room ready for an early Eurostar, was fine for that, wouldn't want to spend more than 1 night though as the bathroom is very small and there is very little space for bags.

The staff and general property condition was acceptable, very close to Kings Cross station and St Pancras International Station. The cost however for what the property is I felt was overpriced. We paid £340 for two nights, this did not include breakfast and the room was cold with no additional heating. Having searched we could have got a better room which included breakfast less that 200 metres away. Was also issue with deposit that was paid, despite having clear evidence that I had already paid £170 I was told that this has not been received from Expedia and I had to pay the £340 in total, trying to get the £170 back is proving challenging with the hotel saying that they have not received it and Expedia saying they’ve paid it to the hotel.

While it was good value, the hotel could have easily made itself much better with just a bit of work on the bathrooms and decor. Also being on the 3rd floor with a large suitcase on those small stairs is an accident waiting to happen. It was also very noisy. I understand being in the heart of London and great location, but even for the price I paid I would expect slightly more. Not recommended unless you are young and just using the hotel for a bed

About 1 min walking from King’s Cross station. Room and communal areas very clean. Good heating. Negatives: Narrow, wobbly stairs. Flat pillow. Toilets do not have a sink but there is a sink in your room. Thin walls so you can hear everyone around you in their rooms.

Too loud for a decent sleep
Theres is no sound proofing from the building site outisde. Also you can hear people on higher floors walking around and slamming doors, really hard to get a good night sleep.

I stayed six night at this hotel, this last October, i just needed a place to crush at night at a good price, even though i had a shared bathroom / Toilet, i never came acrooss any person using them..stuff was friendly and helpful , rooms were cleaned every day, Love this place Literally, one block from Saint Pancras international and kings cross and Metro stations, i will definitely try to book my stay in here again.

How to build a hotels I've stayed in this area this hotel needs updating it is really old versioned and even the rooms are tired and old and there is no lifts or disability access for those reasons it should be much lower in price as it is not worth the price

Great place to stay in London: safe, clean, quiet, convenient, and affordable. Just across the street from the train station and there are consequently a lot of options for food in the area (some are open late as well if you struggle with jetlag like I did the first couple nights). Any day-to-day essentials you might need will be no more than a 10 minute walk away. I will definitely stay here again I am ever on another solo trip in London. What a wonderful experience!

Property was reasonably clean and located close to King's Cross station. Not a nice area to stay, one of the shabbiest in London. Very noisy all day and most of the night. My room was small and had very few comforts. Up 4 flights of steep stairs so no use unless you are pretty fit. The whole area is one big building site

Bed sheets clean and beds relatively comfortable. Location very good and not too noisy. Room and whole hotel very basic and hasnt been decorated since 60s, maybe?! Room tiny and very hot and stuffy. Ensuite aweful! Lots of mould and mildew, not clean at all. Shower head diagusting, yellow mould all over! Cheapest in area we could find for 3, but still massively overpriced and wish I spent £75 more for premier Inn!

Great little hotel
A great little hotel only a few minutes walk from King’s Cross / St Pancras stations so it’s a great location for exploring London. Friendly and helpful staff, quiet location and a comfortable bed made my stay very enjoyable.
