5/5 Excellent
Birthday Weekend
"Exceeded expectations. The photos cannot capture the true glory of the setting: an extended log cabin nestling in a large grassy area, surrounded by forest. We had beautiful weather, which helped, but even if the weather hadn't been so good I think we would still have had a great stay. Lots to do and see and in the local area: the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley, Coleford and Monmouth within easy reach. We also went swimming and had. a sauna at Keeper's Pond in the Brecon Beacons near Abergavenny - a 40 minute drive. The 6 and 3 year olds in the party had a wonderful time playing outside and exploring the forest, while the adults relaxed, ate outside, sat around the fire in the evening. Catherine, the host, is incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. She came to visit on the first evening to check we were ok. The one upstairs bedroom is very warm in warm weather, but the occupants slept with the stable door half open. The cabin has an unbelievably well resourced kitchen; we even baked a cake! And tv's in every room, although we never really used them.
We would definitely go back. It is the best family rental that we have experienced. If you like nature, quirkiness, getting away from it all, you'll like this."
