"Perched halfway up a mountain the hotel has amazing views over the tea plantations, forested hills and mountains reaching into the horizon. The lobby has a wow factor huge panoramic viewing balcony for the must have arrival photos. Check-in was fast and efficient and the staff oferred a variety of things to do including complimentary high tea, tea tasting, cookery class and a morning walk along the mountain. "You have to remember that this is a very remote location. On basis of that the food is very good. The setting is amazing so peaceful. The hotel does not sell alcohol, this is not very clear on the description above, so has led to some negative reviews. The food is a buffet which changes each day. "The reception when we first arrived was a bit frosty. The restaurant breakfast service was extremely poor. Our Valley view room had a toilet roll holder you find in some office buildings where roll is locked and tissue is pulled though a small gap. Two days in a row, the tissue was trapped and could not be pulled out. Each time this happens you hsve to call reception to get it sorted. I am sure I am not the only one to experience this so why not resolve it? One day we came back yo the room...

"Hotel itself is up a very steep hill and a bit far from Munnar, only suitable if you have a driver. The staff are what make this hotel and the views. The hotel itself is quite noisy as the rooms are around an atrium and not we’ll sound proof. We were unfortunate to stay when a large Indian family were also visiting and they were extremely noisy going between rooms and shouting in the corridor/atrium. The staff moved our room and helped as best they could."
