"Excellent stay. Location accessible to many places of interest. very convenient and nearby car parking.
Suggest to add curtains for the open windows for more privacy"
"Great location, walkable to both the train station and the old town.
Very friendly staff, very well equipped kitchen. Our room was clean and the shower facility was acceptable. If you're unlucky to get a room near the common areas, the doors are made of paper so you can hear everything. "
"A wonderful, unique, and meaningful stay for our family of four. This inn offers an authentic, traditional Japanese experience with superior care and fabulous food (you MUST add the dinner experiences!). We will remember it always."
"We had a great stay at Ichika Machiya Holiday House. It was close to the train station and lots of great restaurants. The house was very very nice and clean. Thank you for a great stay!

"Our best hotel so far. Everything met my needs and the breakfast was tasty, and a great machine for beverages. Bath was nice and bed was decent for us and my pregnant wife. The traditional sweets place across the road, for small treats and mochi was worth it! Very happy."
"This hotel was truly something special! Spotlessly clean, great friendly service, free sake and beer in the evenings, and a very tasty breakfast too. Location in Takayama’s old town couldn’t have been better. A real highlight of my trip so far"
"We took the Hida from Nagoya and as soon as you exit, it is a shoe 5-minute walk to your right. The check in was through a kiosk and staff was there to assist if needed. After checking in, the staff explained all of the features of the hotel including the barefoot policy, the onsen and the included nightly ramen service. Our room was spacious with a tea service container on the table. The amenities included a double and single bed, refrigerator, makeup area for my wife, a television (never used while we were there!), and a very nice bathroom. The onsen on the 13th floor had a waiting area with public men’s and women’s onsens along with three private onsens. Also on the 13th floor was a laundry room with two washers and two dryers. Washing was free and the dryer cost 100Y for 20 min. The hotel was very close (10 min walk) to the old town and the daily Miyagawa outdoor market. An amazing hotel that I’d recommend 100%!"
"Great location across the river to the old town, but close enough to the train station. Nice rooms with lots of nice features, great baths, especially the women's next door."
