Liked: Cleanliness, communication
Older condos, nice location
Pros: good location, easy to get in and out of and also easy access to the beach. Newly remodeled with new appliances. Spacious and fairly comfortable. Kitchen was pretty well stocked and had most everything we needed. Parking is covered/underneath the condos. Keyless entry, easy check in and out.
Cons: older condo units and still need a lot of work. The a/c stopped working one day and resulted in a very hot, sleepless night. It was repaired the next afternoon but no follow up from rental company (Oak Island Accommodations). Overall, the rental company seemed clueless about this property. The communication from them stated a parking pass may be required (it wasn’t) and that a pool pass was required. No pool pass is required, only a code for the gate. The floors are uneven. There is black mold on the air vents and shower curtains. The unit wasn’t very clean, a lot of dust, etc. There are no door mats and it was very hard to keep sand out of the condo. The pool closes at dusk and/or 8:30pm, which was surprising and a little disappointing. The HOA rules in the condo say beach equipment is to be stored outside/downstairs but there is no access to the outside storage (it’s locked and not available to renters), so you have to leave it out at your own risk or lock it in your vehicle.
