Quaint in-law unit sits on top of the Oakland Hills close to Redwood Regional Forest and Joaquin Miller Park. Your own private entrance and outdoor space gives you the privacy you need for relaxing while being close to downtown Oakland, Berkeley, and San Francisco with the peacefulness of rural living. A 6 min drive away from the shopping area of Montclair Village offers coffee shops and a variety of food options, grocery stores, gas station and other essentials.

The space
This attached but private guest unit overlooks a valley of trees in the Oakland hills. Cozy studio is perfect for a single traveler or a couple. It has a sofa bed for a third person suitable for a child or a small adult.
Wild turkeys and deer are often seen off the backyard deck. It’s a serene place away from the hustle bustle of the city surrounded by giant trees to experience the Bay Area.

Guest access
This is a private studio space attached to the back of the main house with decks overlooking the forest and a private side entrance.

Other things to note
Cell phone service is spotty depending on your carrier. WiFi connectivity is great. We live in the main house so you may hear an occasional sound. Streets are narrow and steep with no dedicated sidewalk as with most hills neighborhood. Trees sometimes obscure street signs and lampposts so trying to locate our house at night can be challenging. Pavement can sometimes be uneven so those with mobility issues please be aware. Although we are located in the city of Oakland, the setting has a rural feel. You may find occasional ants in the suite looking for water or see a family of raccoons running across the back deck in the middle of the night.
